Can you try the gradient-less "RG4video" on the bottom right with "video" in all caps? I think it looks very nice as-is but maybe will be better in all caps.

Re: having them side by side, I'd recommend making 'video' in all caps as well. I was thinking for the "o", instead of the teeny film strip, actually replace the 'o' with a circular canister that has film coming out.

Oh, I really like the second and fourth ones! It's simple but I think you can really work with it. Maybe you can put a film canister in the background, but faded so the attention is on the text? Just to make it more of a tie-in with the whole 'video' thing. Or a movie camera, etc etc.

Hmmmm. I like the first one, can you make the tail on the film a little longer and more squiggly, like ~~?

The two middle ones aren't bad, but if the canister is blue I'd go with the one on the left. Maybe make the canister a little bigger so a bit of the top and bottom go past the text area's height?

Do you think the blue behind the logo in the top one is too destracting?

I'm starting to lean toward the bottom one but the top one can fit easier in avatar like spaces... Maybe both?

I really like the bottom one, is there a way you can remove the black bits in the film thing? They're a little distracting.

For the one with the canister in the background, try adding a 2px white border/stroke to the text and see if that helps put the focus on the text.

In terms of preference, I'd honestly keep both. I personally have variations of my logo depending on where it's being placed.

EDIT: the new bottom one is cute, though I think it might be a little difficult to understand it's a play button? Might want to poll others. The plain > is confusing though, if English isn't your first language (it's not mine). It looks like "VIDE" to me.

I tried the > or play button as an alternative if I couldn't figure out a way to simplify this. I was trying for an internatinally recognized symbol (play button) and was playing with the idea.



Would having a symbol replacing the O in genreal be a good idea for other languages? I don't plan on making videos specifically in other languages beside English, but I still want to appeal to a wider audience.

Oh, I like the play button, though I'd drop the dropshadow since nothing else has it. Can you increase the weight on the word 'video'? Less than 'RG4', but more than it currently has.

Yes, but I'd put a dark blue border around the play button itself so it doesn't look like a "Q" with the film squiggle.

For the side by side, I like the bottom one but would encourage a bigger play button to match the size of the other text (On second thought, echo that for the play button on the top/bottom version too).

It's still simplistic, but it's a good start. I think once you get your class going a bit more you can figure out how to be a little more innovative with a personalised logo, you know? But for now I think this is much much better than your original version from the first post.

The "O" is a little too big. what I meant was to have it the same size as the "vide" part. Use the grid or guidelines to get the size right.

I'm thinking maybe the tail is't necessary as well. It's a play button, so why is film coming out of it, you know?

I'm liking it. Not sure if the top one with just the circle and arrow is good but I'll use that and see what people think. Unless you hvae any other comments?

I'm really liking it, both versions! I'd roll with it. Just keep an open mind if you get other ideas or suggestions and such (:
