Is there a way to auto-change a member's avatar when banned?

Hello people who are smarter than I! 

I was wondering if there is a plug-in available that auto-changes a user's avatar to something else once they've been banned. 

I've found in the past in other forums I've been a member of that it can cut down on the number of reported threads we have to deal with (My forum has 6800 members and grows by 50-200 members a day). 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it should have the word BANNED under their displayed name instead of their rank
