I know this requires a lot of coding, but I really need someone to help me with this. I'm not sure if it's legal to offer money on proboards, and probably won't be much, but I could pay $12 to anyone who help me with this thing that I need.
My forum: i.gyazo.com/9081d020e6c009923ba3c1f744dc90c9.png
As you can see, I separated one from two, so you can understand me.
One is the left menu bar. Two is the "forum"
What I basically want, is a way to press/click something and hide the left menu bar (one) and expand the forum (two)
I guess this should be done by putting in a javascript/css code the forum wrapper and another way to expand the forum (I know just a little bit), I really need this to be done, so if you could help me, I would really appreciate it.

Just want to clarify. So all your categories and boards would be totally hidden until you click something and then they'd all show? And for the side bar you just want to hide the menu items (where it says, Ford, Normativa, etc) but the rest of the side menu things still show? This might not be as complicated as you think but need to first know exactly what you want.

No, they won't be totally hidden. This will be my forum by default: i.gyazo.com/9ce5da3496a038e110a1fa2f272b5a02.pngAnd when you click the black side bar or somewhere next to the menu that is at the left (the entire thing, including all the content, not only Foro, Normativa, but the whole menu), the menu will contract and the rest of the forum will expand, occupying more space on the forum. So the whole forum has a default size with the menu that is at the left, but when you close that menu, the whole forum expands, including all the categories, boards, posts, even the logo/header, similar like this: i.gyazo.com/815987ffdbbade62adc01104f12386ff.pngAnd also, if there's a way that the "decision" keeps save (when I change the page or re-open the forum, the menu will be open-expanded or close depending on what the user did last) as in the Peekabo Left Side Bar, that's basically what I want, something like the plugin Pekaabo Left Side Bar, but when I decide to close the left side bar, the whole forum will expand. TumbleweedThank you!

TumbleweedThank you! O.K. Glad I asked for more detail. I'll have to set up a test site to work it out so give me a couple days as I'm not sure when I'll have time to work on it. Anyone else, feel free to jump in meanwhile. I don't think it should be that complicated but you never know. Since you didn't provide a link to your site, are the side tables your own creation or a plug-in. If a plug-in can you tell me which one you used so I can use it to test this out. Also what happens to the clickable button? It needs to be somewhere outside the side bar/table that disappears or else it will disappear too and then the user couldn't click it open again.

phrpg.freeforums.netThat's the link. Regarding to the clickable button, I was thinking the same as the pekaboo left side plugin, something like this: ss.prbrds.com/library/t/OZ0udgCo8i87JV6fNYOG.PNGAs you can notice there's a black bar at the right of the side table, it could be clicking that, so that would still even though you close the side bar to expand the forum. Thank you! Tumbleweed

Thank you! Tumbleweed I just started fiddling with it and since I'm stink at jquery and haven't a clue about javascript at all, I've only gotten the forum to go smaller when the side table animates into view. I haven't even thought about the cookies part so it remembers if the member has it open or closed. I'm stuck on how to get the forum to go back to it's original size when you close the side table (make it go out of view) as you can see here: abetteramerica.freeforums.net/. (I just made a crappy table just to get the basic functions working which as you can see isn't going well. Also just tossed it in my header for the time being. )
I'll keep working on it when I have time, but please, anyone who knows jquery better than I do, please jump in!
Also, I'm moving it to templates as that is the more appropriate board for this.
