Years ago, VanillaOrchids hosted graphic worms for ProBoards graphic designers. 

These are borderless images by different artists that flow together in a continuous stream. To do this, artists continued (or copied) the right side of the previous image before continuing with their own graphic.

Recently I mentioned that I missed the old Graphic Worms.  I'd love to take part in one myself. Kami and @hadesfire agreed, but weren't sure there was enough interest in doing even a short graphic worm.  If we can find at least three more people, Kami would be willing to set it up for us.

For those who would like to try this but have no idea how to create the image, this tutorial by VanillaOrchids should tell you how to flip the image.  You may need to zoom the image to read it.

Depending on the graphic preceding it, you may not need to flip part of it to blend the graphics.  If it is a solid color, you can simply continue the color.  If it has a band or line, extend the line before blending it into the new graphic.  If it uses a gradient, you can either try to recreate the gradient or do a pixel stretch.  Figure out creative ways to carry the preceding graphic into your own graphic through color or design elements.  Have fun experimenting!

Celeste, ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥, Alisha, Hernandez, @hadesfire, ashycat! - OK, since I'm going to be running and hosting the graphic worm I'll be making a new thread so I can be sure to edit the opening post.

So you guys know, the general idea is that we each take turns. I'll start, then someone else, then someone else. I'll put up guidelines and tips in the opening post, and I'll include instructions on how to submit.

Celeste, if you want to make this the 'official signup' thread, I can link this in the OP of my thread so that thread is specifically for submissions and letting someone know if it's their turn. Thoughts?

This does sound like fun, Celeste.

It just comes at a bad time.


The winter weather was wicked. Cabin fever was bad and it would have been something to whittle away the hours.


Now, spring beckons and I spend less time on the computer and more outdoors.


When I have a few minutes, I'll check out the tutorial and figure out if this is feasible right now.


Either way, I'm going to be checking in because I think the idea is great.

Am I missing the link to the actual graphic worm? I looked in the other thread but maybe I'm blind.

Also, somewhere later on in the graphic worm I might sign up but currently, my desk top died and I don't want to load a massive graphics program on my laptop so maybe if I get a new desktop later but only if I feel I'm not too much of an amature compared to the rest of you.

I'm just wondering, I can sticky one of these threads if you guys like but sticky-ing both might be a bit too much. Wouldn't it be better just to have sign ups in Kami's thread where everything is confined to one thread? Just a thought.
