So, I created two new signatures today. One at my forum for SOTW, and the other for another forum also sig of the week. The first signature is titled "Sk8er Grrl." The signature was freestyle. The second one is titled "Capricorn," as the theme of the contest was to represent your zodiac sign. Here they are, let me know your thoughts.

I like the first one better than the second; the second needs way more contrast between the focal and the bg. biggest critique on either piece would be that your text detracts from your image focal. (am i supposed to be looking at the text? the faces? which one?)
suggestion would be to design with text in mind and make sure the renders / composition you use has enough empty space for text to go in closer to the focal.

The biggest issue I'm having is the fact that I'm having to design at 200% in PS to make them look halfway decent. At 100% they look awesome, but when saved and uploaded to the web, they look horrible.

At 100% they look awesome, but when saved and uploaded to the web, they look horrible. As elli said in your other thread, most users will likely see them OK at 100%, even if you don't (it's a subjective, based on your monitor thing).
That said though, it shouldn't matter when it comes to composition and contrast, size doesn't affect that. If you want I can throw your pics into PS on my end to show you what I mean?

I just wish the monitor thing would fix itself. But I still have the psd to both so what do you recommend for the text in the second one?

For the text in the second one I'd place it closer to the head of the figure, offsetting the figure to the left a bit. I'd probably also use a new layer > circular black/white gradient with the white around the face to draw attention to it and the text.
Does that make sense?
