Virtual Forum Tour

I wanted to highlight/target the buttons on a user's full profile. I don't want to go to the page, though. I just want to make it so the button itself is highlighted. Does that make sense, or am I speaking gibberish? (The way I'm explaining it, I mean, as I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well. I have the idea in my head, but I'm not sure if I'm putting it into words correctly. )

You can make your selector target the URL of the tab to make the tour target it, as explained previously with your Participated button and all the others beside it.

I'm wracking my brain on how to highlight just one part of the navigation menu (like the "forum" tab)during the tour. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Try using this selector:

I need some help in getting this to work. For one can someone tell how to add to the forum url. I am I do it in the address bar and see this myself (even through it won't play completely through) but how does one add ?tour=home to the url so all visitors will see the tour. Thank you

If your tour starts on your homepage then the page you'd direct your users to in order to start the tour is:

cecilroarsstill.boards.net/?tour=home

The tour stops at a certain point because one of the elements it's pointing to in its settings no longer exists. The default tour that comes with the plugin points to the Forum Information & Statistics container, but that doesn't exist on your theme and has been replaced by a generic table.

So what your saying is when I give a potential member/users the url to my site give them the above. This is not something that will just auto be there for all who visited the forum.

So what your saying is when I give a potential member/users the url to my site give them the above. This is not something that will just auto be there for all who visited the forum. 

Correct. You have to link them to the tour somehow. Whether that's through the use of another plugin or through the registration welcome PM option found in Settings > Forum Settings > Login & Registration is up to you.

Ok I got this working up to part 3 the way I want it too but what do I do to get this default message of the tour This is the Recent Threads page. Click on any of our threads to get started and participate on our club!

This will have to take them to another url and I don't know what CSS Sector this will be and nothing I put in the Lankmark Url works. I know Iam just not understanding something.

I'm not sure I follow. Are you trying to make it point to a specific thread on the thread list or are you trying to make it point at the Create Thread button? Ideally you should post screenshots of what elements on the forum you want to target as that make it easier for me to visit the forum and obtain the correct selector for that element. Keep in mind that the threads on the Recent Threads list are always changing. A specific thread is never guaranteed to be on a specific page of that list.

The Landmark URL tells the tour which page to open when that specific landmark is reached, or if the landmark you're adding the URL to is the first landmark in the tour it tells the plugin which page to restrict the tour to starting on.

It's targeting it correctly. The reason it's not being highlighted is because it's inside of your fixed position #banner-container element which has its own z-index. This overrules the z-index assigned to the landmark since #banner-container is its parent element.

If both elements were separate instead of parent and child it would likely highlight the welcome area correctly.

It actually wasn't that at all xD

I'd mistakenly marked it as an ID in css selectors... when its a class. it was disappearing totally XD

Hey B-ri, quick question that MAY have been answered in earlier replies to Alan Vende but I'm not 100% sure. Everything works just fine but after the last menu item, the forum is no longer darkened in the background. If you could prod me in the right direction, that'd be great. (:
