Hi guys, so I am just working on a new theme (it can work as any, but I am kind of basing it for gaming/entertainment). I'm using icons for certain things, as most always do. One if which is me using an icon for "posts" and and icon for "threads". Now, for "posts" or "comments" there are many icon ideas out there to select from. However, my problem is for "threads" or "discussions". I see no icon to use. I have been using: www.flaticon.com/Because I use PSP, I have to get the PNG, and rework it as a vector myself (of course I will be crediting these guys when released). If you type in POSTS then you don't really find results that you want, but if you search for COMMENTS then you find a nice big range of the exact type of thing you'd be looking for. If you do the same for THREADS and DISCUSSIONS you by no way find anything of use. Ideally I don't want to use any of the "comment" ones for "threads", because they are too similar in my opinion, even though they are different - hopefully that makes sense lol. There are some that are ones I am considering using IF I can't find anything else, the ones I am possibly thinking are: THIS and THIS. The point of this thread is for me to ask you guys and gals, if you have any ideas on what terms to try search to get ideas for (or use) for a THREAD/DISCUSSION icon.
I am going to tag some people, hope none of you mind: Alisha, @khristian, @hadesfire, Kami

I would suggest using Font Awesome Icons instead to be honest. Just past the script required in the Forum Wrapper and then you can use the <i class="icon-name"></i> for the specific icon and you can change it's size and color using CSS. They also have a very nice selection too.

Maybe look for inspiration from findicons.com? Also when I search Google for forum icons, I type in that term and look at the Images tab for links to good graphics sites. Good luck! (If I find some good links, I will post them!)

Apparently I read this but didn't reply before. Apologies for that, it was very rude. I could have sworn I did though - maybe I hit post and it didn't, or maybe I just thought I did... who knows with me these days lol. I would suggest using Font Awesome Icons instead to be honest. Just past the script required in the Forum Wrapper and then you can use the <i class="icon-name"></i> for the specific icon and you can change it's size and color using CSS. They also have a very nice selection too. I've checked both of this quickly, and they both seem fantastic and will surely save me a lot of time, but for now i still need placeholders to make my concept look a bit "prettier". For the paper one I settled on 2 different ones; one being a multi-paper with a PLUS (+) at the front of it, and then the other is similar, it's two sheets with simple lines to represent the writing. Maybe look for inspiration from findicons.com? Also when I search Google for forum icons, I type in that term and look at the Images tab for links to good graphics sites. Good luck! (If I find some good links, I will post them!) Awesome thanks also. Looking at "paper" on there, I settled for this basically: findicons.com/icon/51053/copy?id=342917 or imagine that without the lines and instead, the plus sign.
I found another site earlier or yesterday, but I didn't bookmark it for some reason. I dunno if I googled it or if I find it by chance looking at other sites. It had categories on the left side, then in the middle it had the icons, and you'd click one, then on the right side it'd display the image and ask what size and colour, and if it was for windows etc.
You could generate HTML or save the PNG for this site.
I can't remember the colour but it was a flat design. Don't suppose any of you have any clue?Lmao, I just re-visited icon8 and yeah, it's that haha buahahaha - I blame tiredness!!
For anyone else, on my journey, I also found these sites with free icons: www.onextrapixel.com/2013/07/04/35-beautiful-free-flat-icons-sets-that-you-can-use/www.evohosting.co.uk/blog/web-development/design/best-free-premium-flat-website-icon-sets/www.creativeverse.com/free-flat-icon-sets/naldzgraphics.net/freebies/free-hero-icons/

icons8 also has a neat app you can download where you can search their database without opening the site, I use it and I just right click and save and open it up in PS. Very handy imo!

This is going to be super handy indeed, thank you. It says on the site that you can re-colour, does that mean with the app or is that only on their site? If it's on the app, I can't see how to do it. I watched their video tutorial that is about 40 seconds long (which tries super hard to be funny, but it's just annoying imo) and it doesn't show a way to re-colour.It's a pity I still use PaintShop Pro, so it doesn't put it into the toolbar like with Photoshop, BUT I can still drag and drop perfectly fine, and of course save the PNG to my pc. You guys rock btw for these sites

Stinky666 - I'm pretty sure that's on the site only, but it's simple enough to recolour if you can do clipping masks or layer styles on PSP.

It's a major shame you can't do it on the app. Maybe that can be something they can add in the future. It's awesome as it is for now though, ad yeah PSP does have layer masks, but not clipping ones. With PSP it'd probably be easier to use the website to recolour, which I don't mind.
