I have 0.1.42, so it does look like I'm correctly updated, but I installed and updated the one you linked nonetheless.
If it helps, my site is alcryst.forums.net

The plugin is working correctly, in as much as it is displaying the contents of the key correctly. Why it is saving that number to the key is a bit of a mystery though... If you go into your profile and change your thread count to a smaller number, does it then display that number or does it revert back to 1000+ threads?

I updated my thread count to 3, it saved. I refreshed a thread and it did reflect 3 this time. I made a new thread (as this was what often made it default back to 1,000 when it was at 1,001) and it moved to 4
EDIT: I then went to my account's personal recent threads and nothing happened. Then I went to the site's overall recent threads and the popup happened that's supposed to recount the threads, so I hit OK, and now it's back to 1,000

So, if the count is below 1000 it counts up properly, but if the count is ABOVE 1000 it keeps reverting back to 1000?

So, if the count is below 1000 it counts up properly, but if the count is ABOVE 1000 it keeps reverting back to 1000? I'm not sure. No one's thread count is over 1,000 except for one account that I forced to be that way as an example, so when I go to recent threads and it asks to recount my threads, it shouldn't be going over 1,000 to do it. My post count isn't even 1,000 yet. But it does appear to work okay if I manually set the number to under 1,000 and start posting threads. However, then it's not my actual count, and I'm not sure what my actual count is. So if I go to "recount" it through recent threads, it gets to 1,000 (for some reason) and bam, it's back in its weird cycle. If there is any other possible scenarios you'd like me to test, let me know =)

I never realised it was resetting itself to 1000 on a recount... That is something I can look into.
I'll take a look and see what I can find.

Don't know if it helps, but it also asks to recount the threads every time I visit "recent threads," whereas it's only supposed to do it once if it's outdated. So it seems like the error most exists with the whole recount popup, but I'm unsure. Most of the plugin authors have a staff account on my site at this point so I'm sure you have an old one if you need access to templates or something, and as ever, let me know if there's something I can do to help.

I've gone through pretty much everything on my test site, and it seems to be working fine for me.. Just in case you have a strange version, could you please try this version?

I'm afraid it isn't any better. =/ I installed the plugin as you gave it, set my thread count to 0, then went to "recent threads" and hit "ok" to recounting my threads and it went straight to 1,000. Does testing on my site, where the glitch is happening, help at all?? You can feel free to all you need!

Can you please post or PM me a link to your forum? It seems the problem is specific to you, so there must be something on your forum that is supplying this plugin with the wrong information.
Thanks.

Can you please replace the version you have currently with this test version. It is exactly the same the one you currently have apart from the pop-up you get when updating the thread count of the member. Could you please visit your recent threads page, and when you get the pop-up asking you to update your thread count, you should now have a number in brackets, which SHOULD be the correct count. Can you please tell me if that number is correct, or does that say 1000?

Just jumping in to say this is happening to some of my members too. Can you please post a link to your forum, hopefully if there's two forums with the same problem I can find a common problem. The one in my siggy Here's a link to a thread about/by one of the members it's happening to: 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/46405/why-message-thread-count-resetand another affected member: 2peasrefugees.boards.net/user/3988There are at least a couple more. I've reset the count for the first person more than once - it seems to reset to a correct figure when I do it. Not sure what the trigger is for it to go back to 1000 but it always does.
