Your forum's default hover CSS has an !important label on it which is causing it to override your CSS.

Find a:hover near the top of your style sheet and remove the !important label from its properties.

Thank you, Brian! That must have come with the theme, as I didn't add those there. Now I know to also check the stylesheet if something's not working like it should.

Question: How can I set up the link hover color in my CSS box? I've got this for the link color:

and I looked up on how CSS does hover color and saw that you need to use a:hover, so I tried adding this:


.marquee a:hover {
   color: #ff0000;
}


I used red (for color contrast) just to be sure it was working, and it didn't. The link color works perfect, it turns yellow. The hover color doesn't seem to work though.

The problem may also be with your syntax.
Try:


a.marquee:hover {
   color: #ff0000;
}

Thank you for the reply, P̌̓aͧś̀t̀u͒le͆o͂2̀3̃̓. I did remove the !important flag from my stylesheet as Brian pointed out and it did resolve my problem. Not sure why the flag was needed in the first place, but I had not thought of checking the stylesheet - now I know to check there too now.

I will certainly keep the syntax you provided handy for reference though. Thank you!

I've also now have my most recent version available in my support thread and have submitted it to the library. They must be real busy, as Version 1.0.3 hasn't been added into the library yet and it was submitted 4 days ago. They get a lot of submissions, or is approving plugins just a part of their overall job?

Figuring they are supposed to look through all of their code and not knowing what they are looking for, it takes a while and they don't look over plugins every day. Sounds like a drudging job. I would give an update a week. Submissions come and go. I'm sure on average there are at least 2 a week.
