Best Banner Size for Forum?

We want to redesign our default design, and I'm looking for opinions on ideal banner size.  I want something that, on any device, the banner is well above the fold, so content can be seen.  However, I would like something with a bit more height than current.

Would appreciate suggestions, as well as links to ProBoard forums with different looks.

I would suggest something along the lines of 1600px (width) x 300px (height). This way, your width is accommodating to most screen resolutions, and your height gives you a bit more to work with.

I know this is a few weeks old, 3, but this is a question I think a lot of people ask and wonder. I myself also do usually.
