I have looked at loads of tutorials to create seamless textures and know that the offset function needs to be used but I am struggling to remove the "seams" convincingly. The tutorials seem to use the healing brush or clone tool which works great on busy patterns like rock/paper/grass textures but not when I am trying to make a pattern from eggs or onions. I have attached the image showing the seams, what would be the best way to go about this?

One thing you could do to help removing the seams along, is to copy entire FULLY VISIBLE eggs in your image, and paste them at different angles and intervals above your seam, helping them to interact with each other. Let me up a quick example for you. EDIT: PhotoshopDee - Please keep in mind this is just a quick example illustrating what I mean. The shadows would need to be revised more to make it seem more natural, but this is basically what I had in mind. Larger Image: s14.postimg.cc/kgeobvhbl/eggs.jpg
