Looking to spice up my banner

Hope this link to my banner works. I am happy with the banner image but would somehow like the text that I have PNW Flyfishing Forum to incorporate a fly fishing type theme, maybe a fly line coming off the letters somehow and casting along the banner image? Any help or ideas would be great as I don't even know an editing software that would do this.

This sounds fun to do but unfortunately, I do not have my good graphics program available to me on any of my devices at this time. Dang. Edit, looks like you already have someone interested in doing this, but please still provide that link.

Does anyone have any idea on how I would go about this? Editing software? If I need to purchase a s.w. is there a certain program that is fairly easy to use? Thank you in advance

I didn't realize that was what you were asking since this is a request board for graphics unless you were hoping someone would do it for you and if not, then get the software.   

One thing you could try is Gimp which is free and it does have a tool that you could make a fishing line like you mentioned and although a powerful little program for free, may not be the best for making good graphics.  If you are willing to spend a bit my favorite program even over Photoshop is Xara. (I currently have neither installed on my laptop or I'd be doing this for you, as I mentioned and won't be installing until I get a desktop computer.) Anyway, most people prefer Photoshop I think, and that is big bucks. But it sure wouldn't hurt trying out Gimp and there are many youtube videos our there on how to do things.

If you do indeed want someone to do this for you, have patience and keep bumping. Also can you fix your link (missing the "d" in boards) and your forum must be open to guests per the rules. If you prefer to pm the link when you have it open to guests, that would be fine.

Hey coastrider - I went ahead and fulfilled your request. I found your Board Link, but the board was locked, so I had to take a guess at which colors to go with. I did two different versions, so let me know if this is what you had in mind.

Thanks a lot, I've had some issues of late with another forum company and the guest account so I closed it for the meantime. I love the idea, is there a way to move it over to the lh side? Thank you so much, Ed

Ah, sorry it would be the top one. Also I tried to use the banner but I cannot get rid of my old text, where is the setting for this? Thanks again, Ed

The setting for that is in admin-->themes-->theme manager-->hover over theme name, and it will bring up a menu. Choose "settings". On that page, find "Display forum title"-->Do not display a title. Don't forget to save it.

Ok,you guys are great. I got it setup and just had to change the banner from 120px to 120px height to fit it. Here is a screen shot of it and it appears ok, will check on my pc when I get a chance

I checked it out on the laptop and I'd really like the logo moved to the left if possible. Also is there any chance of getting a logo on its own just like that but smaller? Something that can be used for tapatalk and icon type things.
