Teg, been meaning to ask you this for a while  How did you do the About Me section on your forum's profile? Is it a plug in, something hardcoded for each member (or just for you) or a text box? I've wanted to implement an About Me page for as long as I've been coding my forum, but the best it looks like I can hope for is a text box with lite BBCode parsed formatting.

I've wanted to implement an About Me page for as long as I've been coding my forum, but the best it looks like I can hope for is a text box with lite BBCode parsed formatting. It's a custom profile field. You add the field as a text area, then style it with css... The coding part is included in my source code and I think it is explained in the support thread  |

Ahaa, thank you! it is true what they say, you truly are the Tegmeister I'm gonna go with a textarea control, Light-BBCode Parsed, wrapped in a div, stuffed into another div and then crammed into a conditional {if} nest that checks we're on the profile summary page and shows it if we are. That way I can use that space for other stuff, on other tabs. |

The name of the Tegmeister is know across many lands!  My only bugbear with the light BBCode parsed control is not being able to insert images, or format the size and colour of text, but that's it really. I compromised, styling the textarea container instead. I bashed this out in a couple of afternoons:  So of course I must thank you for the inspiration! |
