A good portion of our traffic is Safari. The new OS X El Capitan 10.11 does not come with Java installed. I do not think many will know or want to go through the steps to install Java. Currently we are using the plugins below for a rotating home page banner and for static banners on other boards. They are Java based: -- iSlider 1.2.0 dev7studios.com/nivo-slider/-- Different Page Banner 1.1.0 support.proboards.com/thread/448440/ QUESTION: Is there a coding solution to put a static or animated banner on the various pages of the Forum including the Home page that does not involve Java? If "yes" can you advise of the coding, and where it should be placed? Proboards displays a redirect button when Java has been turned off in the browser. QUESTION: If a plain html 5 graphic slider were used such as WowSlider wowslider.net , would user still be redirected and not see images?

Wowslider uses JQuery, which is a subset of Javascript. If Javascript is disabled, or flat-out not present on a users' system (why on earth not, one can only speculate) then JQuery will likely not work either. Many MANY sites these days use Javascript in some form or other. I would go as far as to say MOST do. If users don't have it installed, I imagine they're gonna find their browsing experience will be quite diminished.
