Honestly, I'm not that good at explaining things, so please bear with me here. After this, if you're still not sure then send me a pm or something and I'll try to find a couple examples of what I'd like.
Board/banner layout: It's simple, just make everything centered in the middle of the screen.
Banner: I'd like the banner to be reasonably large with some kind of thing that lets me hover over it to see any information I might have posted up there. Basically, the banner will act just like a side bar might.
Boards: I'd like these to be in rows of two. When I hover over them, the titles should either be underlined or fade.
I'd like an affiliate table at the bottom which automatically scrolls.
Images and colors: Although this is a writing forum, I'd rather it be more imaginative then having a book or series of books being placed as a banner. So make it with the slogan "Let your imagination run wild" in mind. Use any images that involve, ancient forests, various animals (real and/or imaginary). As for the color scheme, either blues or greens should suffice.
