You know that thing the Support board does? Where you start a new post and it asks for your forum link and then fills that & 2 line breaks into your new post?
How do you do that? While the pop up part isn't as much of an interest the auto fill in a post is. All I'm looking for is when you start a new thread (not reply), the posting field is automatically filled with text (bbc). Basically cutting out the step of having people copy-paste templates from elsewhere. They'd just start a new post and there it is! All ready to be typed in.

I've not used this myself but take a look at this plugin and see if that might be what you want: www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/78You can download it directly to your site if you go to your admin. panel and then the plugin library.

I have looked at that the last time I requested this sort of thing. It's a neat plugin and something I can use for the very simple, hit the create thread button and then fill out these fields. But I've also considered using the idea for character applications, which are a lot more complicated with div styles'n all that jazz. Unless this plugin has been updated so allow me just throwing in a buncha code and then it auto-fills the posting area with said code without the member having to go through input fields or menus? Hard to tell since the help thread is so scarce with instructions. *Edit: There's also the problem of, when using that plugin, there is no preview. So it wouldn't be as useful for Affiliate or Advert templates since guests wouldn't be able to preview before posting. Whereas if I just had some code filling in the regular posting area the preview function would be available to them.

I think Dave (http://support.proboards.com/thread/565582/custom-post-template-styling?page=1&scrollTo=6518144) is asking for something similar to what you want except his request is much more complicated. As is Dave's request and your request, this is beyond my scope of knowledge so just keep bumping every 24 hours and hopefully someone wiser than I will come along. Sorry I couldn't be of help.

Is no problem Tumble I greatly appreciate any response. The plugin is nice and does work in some cases so was a good suggestion. I'll go take a look at that other request you linked.
Really, if I can only get the exact thing that the Support Home uses in is help area that'd be cool too. Do you by chance know what that is?
Thanks again!

I just know by checking the source code here, it appears to be a plugin and I don't think it's in the library for members to use but I could be wrong.

It's a plugin that was made exclusively for ProBoards Support. - Open dialog when hovering over the posting area - Upon dialog submission insert predefined text followed by the specified URL into the posting area - Write URL to a key if the user specified it's a private URL

Oh wow, thanks Brian! I guess I'll mosey on over to the plugin request board when I have a moment; or sit down and learn me some plugin magic myself. And thank you again Tumbleweed for your help on the matter
