@joecool111: I've updated to v1.1.3, which allows an administrator to customize the track placeholder for platforms that don't support plugins. It should be available in the library shortly, or you can download it here. VSoundCloud.pbp (23.82 KB)

Note that this will only fix the ugly text if either:

1. a track is inserted using v1.1.3 or later
   
2. a post created in a version earlier than v1.1.3 is opened in the editor and then saved

In other words, it won't fix any ugly text you already have unless you pull old posts into the editor and re-save them.

Let me know if you run into any problems.

thank you vigil, i totally understand the older posts, not a problem, i'll go check it out know.

edit: ok all tested good, just one thing if you could before you put it in the library, i've used the default placeholder which looks nice but could you out a line of text in it saying ' please press desktop view below '  just so they don't think my whole site isn't capable of embedding soundcloud pls.

if this would be ok pls

@joecool111 : I'd prefer to keep the default placeholder as-is, mainly because the "View Desktop" option may not be present in all contexts. However, you can select "Image Placeholder" and insert the URL

Virgil Sovereign the posts for facebook now say 'no preview available' instead of all the soundcloud code stuff,is this something you could change or is it on facebooks side ?


its no biggy if its facebook, i would like it blank if you could pls.

You're saying that posts containing SoundCloud embeds show up as "no preview available" on FB, and they didn't before this update?

"No Preview Available" isn't mine. Either it's Facebook telling you that the URL is invalid or that it can't display the image.

The image placeholder you should see is:



To determine if the problem is a bad URL, temporarily disable VSoundCloud and view the post using a normal web browser. You should see the above image. If you don't, it means the URL wasn't copied properly. If you do see it, it means that Facebook can't display the placeholder image for whatever reason. You might want to check if it can display any images.

Alternatively, you can select "Placeholder Text" in the plugin settings and set the text to the desired value.
