can i get rid of this text in these posts?

The facebook posts fine, i was just wondering about this text.

"No Preview Available" isn't mine. Either it's Facebook telling you that the URL is invalid or that it can't display the image.

The image placeholder you should see is:



To determine if the problem is a bad URL, temporarily disable VSoundCloud and view the post using a normal web browser. You should see the above image. If you don't, it means the URL wasn't copied properly. If you do see it, it means that Facebook can't display the placeholder image for whatever reason. You might want to check if it can display any images.

Alternatively, you can select "Placeholder Text" in the plugin settings and set the text to the desired value.

I think we've have something a miss with my request, i dont want this placeholder showing up on every facebook post i want the placeholder to be blank, but i want the placeholder in the mobile app to have this image only.


Is this possible ? 


It looks even worse if this gets shown on facebook in every post. and if i choose blank placeholder then the image wont show in the mobile, people will think the whole site doesnt work if they use the mobile and their soundcloud doesnt work and there's no explanation.


The image probably will show up on facebook posts after a few days though because my other post images take a few days to work usually.

So would this be possible?  to have a blank placeholder on the facebook posts and the image in the mobile view only ?


edit: ok iv just tested it like you said by disabling the plugin and the image is there, so this means facebook cant display that image.

so would it be possible to have a blankplace holder in the post aswell as the image just for the mobile ? if it is possible then it doesnt matter, im good with the 'no preview available' text.

@joecool111: You're going to be stuck with one type of placeholder for everything that can't run the plugin. That includes Facebook and any mobile platforms.

You can set the placeholder to an image, to text, or make it blank, but whatever you set it to will appear in all places the plugin can't be run. And it would appear that Facebook doesn't display the image placeholders.

I unfortunately can't get the plugin to do anything more than this because it's not actually being run on these third party platforms.

Here's what I can do for you though: Create a single post somewhere on your message board whose content will serve as a placeholder. Put as much text, graphics, etc. into the post as you want. See what it looks like on Facebook and on mobile devices. If you can create something that looks good to you when viewed both on Facebook and on mobile devices, give me a link to that post, and I can give you a version of the plugin that uses that content as the track placeholder.

@joecool111 : I've updated to v1.1.4 in the library, which you can also find attached. VSoundCloud.pbp (21.99 KB)

To get your desired placeholders:

1. select "Text and Image Placeholder" under the "Mobile" tab
2. enter the desired text (for example, "Listen to the freshest world talent here.") in the "Placeholder Text" field; be sure to include a newline at the end of the text so that the image is placed below it
3. specify http://i.imgur.com/FwDS3j7.png as the URL in the "Placeholder Image" field
   

That should do it.

Virgil Sovereign theres one thing i think its my fault though, you said put a break in the text which i put <br> at the end but its showing br in the facebook posts.

Have i done this wrong ? everything else works with the images and text showing, just this br at the end.

I meant you should put an actual line break (by hitting "Enter") at the end of the text.
