This is in regards to either the Awards System or Awards notification plug-in. The notification plug-in was installed/is under the Awards System plug-in like it's supposed to be. Two members have reported the following problem when clicking on their Awards tab on their profiles: You do not have permission to write to this key.
Error Code: 32 Key: award_notify Object Id: 57
When closing this error message and visiting the next forum page, the "You have received one or more vector awards!" appears, again. And this happens over and over again.Let me know if there's something I need to do from my end and where so this can be fixed, if possible. vectorgaming.proboards.com/

It's because the write permission is wrong. Looking at the plugin settings in the source, only staff can write to the key, I assume that the user needs to be able to write to their key as well.

Still happening to at least one member. I double checked it and it was saved to members and staff and still is. Or is it one of those things where it takes a few hours/the guy should clear his cache or something?
EDIT: no, that's probably not it, as another member said it's happening to him too, and he hasn't been on since last night.

It still looks like the write permission is set to Staff, rather than Members and Staff. The read permission looks to be correct.

I've got my Key Settings page up in another window right now, plus I refreshed it. The Read permissions is set to Everyone and the Write Permissions is set to Members and Staff like I set it this morning.

You source code is definitely saying otherwise.
Read Permission is set to level 1 (Members and Staff) and the Write Permission is set to level 2 (Staff). I assume you have clicked 'Save Changes'?

THAT'S weird. Again, I have it up in a separate window and it's saying the exact reverse: Read permissions is set for Everyone and Write permissions is set at Members and staff. And yes, I had clicked on Save Changes.

I still see the same thing just like Todge is seeing. I suggest removing and adding it back, that way it will use the default permissions that Todge setup. Once done, don't change anything, go test it, then report back. Just noticed this thread is in the wrong board .

I'm just going to add one more thing before doing that: Is there a way another plug-in/something in a code could be interfering with it? Because I had put the Karma system back quite some time ago. Not being a coder/having chronic fatigue and it being a pain trying to stick with it, it was difficult to get it to work (it's the difference between buying a piece of furniture and taking 3-5 hours to get it together when you can just hire someone from the store and they'll put it together for you in only 45 minutes, you know!). I didn't go back to it until weeks later, getting it to work then. However, the "Your chosen karma text" still appears on profiles to this day. I couldn't find the place ever again (it seemed to have disappeared) in the code to take it out. Karma still works on a person's mini-profile when they post but not on their profile page. (I meant to mention it here at some point but I didn't see it as to being real crucial.) Just a shot in the dark/the last idea from myself. That, or maybe I should try setting the Write permission to staff? Because it seems to be doing the opposite from what you're seeing/how *I* see it.

Wave Trekker , I doubt it is another plugin conflicting with it, because what we see (as guests) for the permission settings seems to be the cause. I'm not familiar with the plugin, but isn't it just an addon for the Awards plugin? You won't lose all your awards added in, if that's what you meant it being a lot of work.

I figured it was a long shot but I just thought I'd put that in. I'm not familiar with the plugin, but isn't it just an addon for the Awards plugin? No, it brought back the old karma system that Proboards used before it was dropped when version 5 of the software was released. Apparently a lot of people wanted it back (including myself) so the plugin was used for that purpose. You won't lose all your awards added in, if that's what you meant it being a lot of work. No, it was going around and individually awarding people that took a lot of time, since there doesn't seem to be a way to give multiple people awards with just one click or something.

Wave Trekker, I think you misunderstood me. I'm referring to Todge's notification plugin in my post that you are having issues with, not the karma plugin. The error you posted references the notification plugin (based on the key), so what you can do is just import that plugin again, just don't clear the data in the key (that way people will still have their notifications). We can't debug further until you are using the vanilla settings, because it still has a wrong permission for the "write", and importing again should fix it, just don't import the settings when it asks you.

In addition, this is making me wonder, Wave Trekker - are you looking at the settings for a Karma plugin, or the plugin that is named (I think) Awards Notifications? If the former, this is why you're not seeing the Key Permissions that Todge and Peter are talking about. Be sure you are looking at the Awards Notifications' Key Permissions.

No, I double- and triple-checked the Awards Notifications page. I could've included a screenshot of that but I know Proboards isn't much on those since they can be faked. The shot would show that I definitely had it set correctly and all.
I've never looked at any of the Karama settings since I installed that ages ago, so I definitely wasn't looking at it by mistake. Plus it doesn't have the tabs that the Awards Notification plugin does, such as the text I entered for all of the awards.

Wave Trekker, See my last post, you need to import the plugin again. Keep the data, but don't import the settings. Once done, don't touch anything, post back.
