Go Admin >TEMPLATES > HOME
ON THE INFO CENTER LOOK FOR

AND REPLACE THAT LINE WITH THE LINE OF CODE BELOW

Nice trick @xsteveuk , I just applied it to my forum. How did you increase the character numbers for the last updated post field ? It seems like yours is longer than the default one.

Edit: Ohh another idea...can we also add an avatar next to the Hello, Username in the upper right corner ? (before logout).

It looks like I forgot to add the Shorten Thread Links on homepage on my test board
As why the the character numbers are not short...

I did have ago at adding the current user quote avatar in the upper right but did not align correct
And besides one is limited to space even more so if have many links on the top bar
