Well, there are times any site can lag. I never say never. And that's why I have themes from ProBoards' default and very simple to the more decorated.
What's your computer specs? My PC is only 4 GB RAM and only 500 GB hard drive.
My laptop is 16GB RAM and 2TB hard drive with the newest, latest processor. It can stay on for days and it doesn't even get warm to the touch.

That's true, you're right. I can understand the need to have PB's default and simple themes for that reason.
MacBook Air (13-inch) 1.4 Ghz intel Core i5 Processor 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory
It's not as much as the most expensive model in the way of memory lol

I think that's a dual core processor, Alan Vende . As you know, the newest are quad core. And some phones have octa-core!
When I purchased the laptop, for me, the processor was extremely important.
I have a few friends with the MacBook Air and they say it's not quite as fast as they would like. I'm not sure if that's what you have, but if it is, your experience isn't unique.

If my memory serves from when I talked to the techs, you're right, it is a dual core. I actually do have a MacBook Air, but yeah, I didn't think it was unique. Most people I talk to, even people who originally had Apple products, such as their iPhone, moved to SamSung. I love their phones and have had nothing but a great experience getting support, so I'm not sure what they're really talking about in that regard, but to each their own, I guess (in the way of my friends, I mean.)

Everyone has their own likes/dislikes/budgets. That's what makes the world go round.
BTW, I just checked out the diamond background. Looks good. But a small suggestion. Why not have the background fixed so it doesn't scroll with the forum. I think that might look better as the diamonds will remain stationary upon scroll.

I was kind of ticked, though, because my friend had used the excuse, "Oh, I didn't get your texts/phone calls" as a 'reason' to get his new phone. It didn't add up! Thanks! I am working on finishing that theme and then I will be copying it for the black, red and other themes (so I don't have to go in and manually move everything over and risk an error.) I thought that that setting had saved. You're talking about in the Visual Editor, right? I have been doing a lot in there lately, but I think I forgot to hit save (I do that often, too!) Thank you, I will go back and do it now. I'll tell you when I do so you can tell me if I did it right (lol). Thank you for the suggestion, my friend.

At first I had done "fixed" and not "scroll with page" as I didn't know which radio button went with which option (this is the first time I have actively used the Advanced Styles area; I have always used the Stylesheet for changes I could make in the Advanced Styles area - a lot more work than I have needed to do, lol.) I think I got it to work right.

No, it's still scrolling. Go to my board and see the difference. The forum is scrolling, but the background isn't moving with it.
I always work in both editors ~ Visual and StyleSheet. The fix/scroll option is in the top section of the Visual Editor tab under Background.

I thought you were talking about having it scroll with the page - at least, that's how I read it - I just changed it so the background is fixed, which is how you have it on your forum - that's what makes it so it doesn't move.

No, I posted ~
Why not have the background fixed so it doesn't scroll with the forum.
Now you have it right, and it looks much better. Having the motion of the background moving is distracting.

Now you have it right, and it looks much better. Having the motion of the background moving is distracting. I think I have a bit of Dyslexia because I constantly mix up words and read them wrong - like I thought you said, "Why not have the background scroll with the forum" - completely missing the "...fixed so it doesn't..." I will keep that in mind for when I copy the theme to create the others. Thank you for your help, ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥! Also, just so you know, within the next few days, maybe even today, if I can get to it, I will be posting in GOAYB. I would love to hear your full opinion on the other areas that I would like to get opinions on as well as what you already have with the scroll, or, lack there of. Thank you so, so much for your input. It means a lot.

It looks much better, Alan Vende .
And TBH, I don't enjoy giving opinions about someone's work. I think creative endeavors are very subjective ~ just like art. What pleases someone may not please another. So I strive to do what pleases me ~ and my members. They come first. Ultimately, the only opinion that matters is theirs. They are the heart and soul of any board and if they like what an admin is doing that's all that matters (to me) because without their daily input and participation a board is merely a piece of stagnant artwork whereas I prefer it to be a live, active enterprise enjoyed by those who "inhabit" it.
My members had one simple request of me when the switch was made to v5. They wanted the functionality of ProBoards to remain the same. And the layout. It's what they know and love. So I promised them I would do just that. I've remained true to ProBoards layout because that's what they wanted. And I'm fine with that. Their opinion is more important than mine because without them, it's just a mass of code with no users.

I completely understand that, to which is why I haven't put a post up there. I don't want people to nit pick what I think is a good forum. I already had that done with a book that I was writing. I had removed the book from the platform that it was on because of the haters that bashed it. To make a long story short, I have put it back up because it pleased me to write it and I'm the only one that I must please at the end of the day. It didn't matter what they thought, and it took me removing the book completely from the platform to realize that. It took me a while, but the book is more popular now than it was before I removed it, so that's good, too. (Sorry, what you said made me think of that.) My members had one simple request of me when the switch was made to v5. They wanted the functionality of ProBoards to remain the same. And the layout. It's what they know and love. Their opinion is more important than mine because without them, it's just a mass of code with no users. I try to stay true to PB's layout and everything (which I hope I am, especially with this theme.) I didn't have many members on my forum(s) back in v4 and I took a long break from PB because of that. I came back right as the forums were being changed over to v5, which I now love. I hope, though, that some day my forum will be as active as I know it will be. It just takes time.

I think the answer to most things in life are within ourselves.
If I removed every single theme from our board and just left ProBoards' default, the members would remain because it is about community and one another and not the "codes or dressing".
As far as functionality, I've not added anything other than what we had in prior versions. They want their threads on a board to be the only thing on a board. Nothing above or below. No redundancy. And thankfully, I agree with all of that.
Content and community ~ that's what it's all about (for us, anyway).
Good luck!

Good luck! You're right, it is. I just have to advertise, advertise, advertise to get more members to come and enjoy the content. I have many guests come, but the guests, as far as I can tell, are all SEO Spiders. Thank you and I hope you, your members and your families have a joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year.
