Post Merging

Idea Description: When a user makes a post on a forum thread and then makes another post directly after that one, instead of 2 separate posts existing, I want them to merge into one post. This would only apply to users that make a post directly after their post so when a different user makes a post after their post, the merge effect would no longer work. This kind of feature is evident on the Wangan Midnight Expressway forum (www.wmexpressway.net)

Attempting to double post results in what you see in the picture. I am wondering if someone would be able to recreate this kind of feature. It would be really handy.
