Current Version: 1.2.0
Key(s) Used: (none)
This plugin allows you to enter News Items and will then pick one randomly on refresh or page change. Please note that the fewer items you have, the greater the chance for an item to be repeated on a refresh or page change. News items appear above the #content on every page (not tested with custom pages, though).
Each News Item can be set to its own text color. Text justification option added in V1.0.2. If no setting specified, defaults to Left.
Version 1.2.0
There is now a Skip option. This will skip that entry (or entries) as if it wasn't there, but allowing you to keep that news feed line (similar to un-checking a checkbox on a news feed line in your Admin > News Feeds).
NOTE: You will see 2 options in the Settings tab (I didn't catch that they were there before submitting it): Page Changing and Dynamic Use Page Change - please note that these 2 options are NOT functional at this time (I added them as part of a request, but they aren't working yet). Those fields do require you to fill them out, but you can just put anything in them for now - as they are not even in the code yet to affect anything. Those option are being worked on for the next update (hopefully), so please don't report them as not working, as I already know this.
Version 1.1.2
Fixed an issue where the first random news item did not display until after the delay timer expired.
Version 1.1.1
Fixed links not displaying. Added Target option for links.
Version 1.1.0
You can now set the Random News Feed to be Static or Dynamic. If set to Static, it will function as it did in previous versions, meaning it will only change on a page change. If set to Dynamic, it will pick another random news feed line after a set number of seconds. The number of seconds can be set in the UI. If you do not include the number of seconds, it will default to 3 seconds. Entering a value less than 1 will result in it setting the Delay to 3 seconds. Delay is in seconds, so a 1 minute Delay would be entered as 60.
IMPORTANT!: You will now need to add:
to where you want the Random News to display. It will no longer automatically place it before #content. I'll see about adding selections for auto-placement in a future version.
If there are any bugs and / or suggestions for this plugin, please post them in this thread.
