Kakutougi - The #1 forum for fightfans!

Fellow forum fans,

Allow me to introduce you to Kakutougi.

Kakutougi is a community by and for fightfans.
We focus on professional fighting, namely the sports of Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing.
Kakutougi (??) is a Japanese amalgamation for combat sports, martial arts and one-on-one fighting.

A brief history on how we ended up at ProBoards.

Kakutougi started out with a vBulletin forum back in 2004 and over the years managed to build up a community with over 2000 registered members.

Unfortunately, between 2010 and 2012 our main Admin became less and less active and at a certain point just faded into obscurity. When I did some digging in 2013 I found out our forum was on an annual auto-renewal subscription, but figured the original contract probably wouldn't run longer than 10 years.

Something had to happen to assure the continuity of our community once the forum disappeared, so we started doing some research and went over our options. We could have gone and moved to a more 'modern' platform like a Facebook Group, but I feel somewhere in the process of Social Media platforms expanding their reach quality gets lost and makes place for quantity. Since we prefer quality we decided to stick with the forum format so in early 2014 we took our core members and moved the Kakutougi community to ProBoards. Timing seemed good enough as last year the final lease of the original forum expired and it went offline.

After a little under two years at ProBoards we are at:

9177 Total Posts

We never had the ambition to be the biggest forum, but are always eager to welcome new visitors, fellow fightfans and (guest)members to our community.
