How can I get a Kismet Tabbed Sidebar

Okay, I didn't know what else to call my topic lol, but here goes:

I was wondering if there was any way for me to get a permanent side column/bar on the side of my forum? I want to be able to adjust the colors and font. Also, possibly width. I would like it to be tabbed and include various links and site information.

I want it to look similar to this sidebar - HERE. I absolutely LOVE LOVE the side bar in that forum. How it has the affiliates, VIP, site info, links, the c-box... But I can't seem to figure out how to get that. Much appreciation to anyone who can help! Here is another link here for you to see.

Hi, dezhoni .

That forum has it built directly into their template, but you can install one of the existing side table plugins to achieve a similar effect on any theme along with having the option to collapse it.

If you need help designing it beyond that I recommend visiting the Templates board.

I have used that plugin, and it is great! But it isn't EXACTLY what I am looking for. :/

What are you looking for? There are a lot of sidebar plugins!

Here's a better explanation of what dezhoni is looking for.  I had already provided the various sidebar plugins to her. 

She's looking for a tabbed table in the sidebar.

Barkley , I use both the sidebar re-dux plugin and the peekaboo, and gave dezhoni  those links.

I think sh'e looking for guidance in setting up tabs inside of the sidebar ~ whichever style she chooses.

No, I've not been able to give guidance. I had given the plugin links on the thread I quoted here thinking that is what she was asking for. I posted that thread link so everyone could read her response.

OK. I now know what you mean so removed my initial post as the info in it now appears irrelevant.
I missed your thread link first time around as was distracted trying to figure out what relevance the snowflake had, but now I realize it's in all your posts ha ha. She appears to have installed the side bar and tables so presume all is good.

I just read dezhoni's original post.

The link that she provided does not show a forum with that peekaboo side table.
I know her wording implies that is what she may have been looking for.

Not a problem, Barkley . It was difficult to realize what the "bells and whistles" in the title were referring to.

Everyone was offering Sidebar options and I simply wanted to elaborate on what was being asked for since I had already supplied those options in the other thread.

I'm glad she got it sorted.

Ah... Sorry everyone I was busy with work. I have not figured it out yet. While it was taking a while for my post to be answered I ended up just using a premade skin for the time being, because I was under the impression that my question would go unanswered. Seeing that people have replied I am back to square one and if you look on my site you'll see that my skin is pretty basic and bare now.


I have done some research and I believe what I want is called kismet's tabbed sidebar...? If any of you are familiar with it and can help me with it.

You can insert them into either the headers / footers or the template.

admin > structure > headers / footers

admin > themes > layout templates

More specifically, would depend on where you wanted it to be displayed.
