Download: Group Points 1-1-1.pbp (7.78 KB) This was a personal request. There is probably more this plugin could do. It will be submitted to library eventually when pictures are added. It is designed for role-playing forums that want to organize and keep track of users and/or groups. Description: Keep Track of Custom Point Values For Users Tally Those Values as a Group Output Individual Values or Combined Group Values Adds Notifications to your Notifications Page with seamless integration your users won't notice it's a plugin at all. Specify an edit reason to show on the notifications page along with who added, subtracted, or set points and the amount. Requirements: This plugin Requires 2 Super Keys Note: It's not the simplest of plugins and has some restrictions Features: Create Nearly an Unlimited Amount of Separate Point Values For Users Score Users as a Combined Forum Group Output Separate Values or Combine Them in a Group Display Group Values Anywhere (Display "User" Values in Mini-Profile, Members, or Profile Pages) Formatting Made Easier With HTML Design in the Manage Section Automatically add Mini-Profile, User Profile, and Members Page Support Control Who Sees the Edit Button Control Key Permissions PageChange, AfterSearch, and Moderations supported. Use: Set up how many point types you want and how many groups. Then assign forum groups to your newly created groups. Staff Members can edit point values of members. All point records are awarded by Staff. Those points are displayed. The Groups used must be the user's displayed group for it work points are added on the profile page. The group cannot be set to hidden. Usually the users display group is the first group they have been added to. Try removing their groups, adding the group used in this plugin and then add their other groups back. Anyone without a proper display group setup will default to being added to the first group in the plugin. What This Plugin Does Not Do: Regular Users Cannot Save to a Key. This means that you cannot automate giving of points but users cannot compromise security of the data. You cannot award points on posts, likes, activity, private message, Charmin two-ply, or anything else automatically. Feature Request: Format with Commas, Add top contributors list in group key. (name,id,total points)

I can't tell if I can't figure out this plugin because I'm stupid or too tired. xD I understand what it is supposed to do, its limitations and features, etc. I remember when it was requested even. But when I actually install and open up the plugin, I can't figure out what should go where based on the descriptions given. Is there any chance for a small walkthrough to help the stupid-and-tired?

Yeah i have even more features added in my current version. I havent provided any REAL support for it yet because I was waiting for the final edition as approved by the requested parties. But basically you add edit points button class and then staff can add points to users. If the users are in a group it will add to corresponding group automatically. Then display the group class somewhere

I'm not gonna lie, I don't even have questions to ask looking at this cuz I'm too confused to form what parts I'm confused about. xD I feel downright stupid, I'm sure it's not nearly as complicated as I'm making it, but yeah I'm kinda throwin' my hands up in defeat for now

I'm not gonna lie, I don't even have questions to ask looking at this cuz I'm too confused to form what parts I'm confused about. xD I feel downright stupid, I'm sure it's not nearly as complicated as I'm making it, but yeah I'm kinda throwin' my hands up in defeat for now Step by Step: How To: Add Points to Users 1. Fill out Currency name. This will be all of the users points values. 2. Make a unique class name for each of the points values. (Do not use spaces, periods, or weird symbols.) Go to the users tab. 3. Name the Full DIV Class Name something unique 4. Format the HTML as desired. (The name of the points from page one can be inserted with text: gppoints1. The users current points in that category can be placed with gpgroup1. The edit button for those points can be placed with gpedit1.) Your setup for user points is now complete. Add your Full DIV Class Name to your User Profile page via header/footer/theme layout. Example: <div class="userpoints"></div> How To: Add Points for Groups 1. Fill out a group name, a unique class name, and keep the defaults for the div html. (The total points in the key can be viewed with gpgroup. The name of the points can be place with gppoints1. The total of each individual point type in that group can be placed with gpgroup1.) 2. Add a Forum Group from your Proboards forum to be attached to that group you just created. Your setup for group points is now complete. Add your Full DIV Class Name where you want that Custom HTML box to be displayed. Example: <div class="mygroups"></div> How To: Edit Points 1. Go to the users page. 2. Click the edit button, fill out the fields, and click set/add/subtract. This will update the users points, and the groups points (if part of a group) How To: Reset Group Points 1. Go to admin/manage 2. Go to keys. 3. Clear the group_points key

Not totally sure but would I be able to set it in a way that I could have it show the top 10 point providers for each group?

Not totally sure but would I be able to set it in a way that I could have it show the top 10 point providers for each group? No, due to space limitations recording each user into a "forum" key (which is what the group key is) would be a large chunk. That would have to be done manually.

Okay - was just wondering xD I mean technically I could do it, if you only had maybe 3 different point types and 3 different groups. You might have enough left over to do 10 names, ids, and point values.

I was looking at one point type (Just points) that are used by four different groups if this is possible (think similar to harry potters house points - where all use house points but four different houses)

I mean a key holds 32k bytes. I could eat like 100 per user. 100 per group. 100 per points. I would technically still have a crap load left. Maybe I'm just over reacting. Its just managing the database could take some time. I'll put that as a feature request.

P̌̓aͧś̀t̀u͒le͆o͂2̀3̃̓ I have a future feature request, if at all possible, that would be required for me to be able to use this plugin. First off, I love this to death and appreciate your work on it so much! Also, I know you are super busy, barely have time, are a newly wed, and just in general can't jump to add features just cuz I want it. So please take your time and also feel free to reject my request. I'd love a way to set up points on an individual basis rather than groups. I want to use these points in a way I currently can't. Basically, in my roleplay game characters can make and own "guilds." When they make a guild, I want them to be able to make up points specific to their guild, too, to give even more customization than already granted. However, the current set-up leaves me with 2 options, neither of which work: I can either add all these points in as guilds are made, meaning most people will have a bunch of points unrelated to them because they aren't a part of that guild, OR I can personalize it by group, but that does not work because they are not separated by group when joining a guild. I need the ability to have "Points 1" show up for User A, User B, and User C, and "Points 2" show up for User B, User D, and User E, but that means User A doesn't show Points 1 and User C doesn't show Points 2--but not based on groups. Is that making any sense? I'm having a really hard time putting this into words.. Please feel free to ask questions for better clarification. Again no rush and thank you for reading, no matter the outcome! ^^
