The container is set to 100% width. You can change the width it uses via its class:
.msg-otd { width: 50% !important; }
setting the width to what you want. The only margin it uses is margin-bottom, also changeable in the same .msg-otd class. Do you have a link to the forum page it's running on so I can take a look?

Sorry, I didn't mean width, I meant height. As I change the height manually, it doesn't shift the text up at all.

Is there a way I can make this just text? I want to be able to use this, but I want to have it in my own content area, rather than created a title and content bar automatically. As it's written, no. But, you can style it within another container. Find any of Boy_Wonder's posts in this thread and click on the image in his sig to see how he's styled it to fit (I believe) in a Sidebar Redux container. Nope custom html layout

Thanks, this is looking good and the additional features should make this very useful. I am thinking that I could possibly want to run a couple of versions of this for different reasons on the same forum.

Running multiple copies probably won't work very well, as you'd probably end up with events showing that are listed in one copy - on every copy. They would all be looking at the same variables. I'd have to make "mirror" plugins that do the same thing - but with each plugin using different variables for that idea. Boy_Wonder - Nice job with the HTML on that! I thought it was sidebar. Didn't even bother looking at what else was there.
As a note, it will probably be a little while for the next version. I've thought of a few more options I'd like to put in there, but it deals with coding that I haven't really dealt with yet, so it'll probably take a bit for me to work out the code and, most likely, debug.

Update:
1.0.3 will get pushed out with some updates. See my forum (link in sig) on what's been done to 1.0.3. It's listed in the On This Date container there.

Okay, Skidjit . I'll be sure to tag you. Probably not going to go through and test tonight - too many late nights already on this thing. Once I know it's bug-free, it'll probably be the last update until V6. I don't want it to get too extensive without knowing how much I might have to change to make it compatible with V6. Oh, and I also noticed you're still in "testing" mode with your events? (They still have something to the effect of 'this is a test' on them.) Of course, I think you should put the one for 3/3 on 2/29 instead. LOL! You know, I never realized this is a leap year. I didn't fill in anything for the 29 and my dates even in my home life have been all screwed up. LOL. Yesterday morning, I kept thinking it should be Friday. Then yesterday afternoon, I told my daughter I will be watching Survivor last night... which comes on Wednesday nights. I think this leap year thing threw my whole week off. LOL! That's why I didn't get what you were talking about with "2/29" I thought you must have meant 3/1.
OK... I'm taking a breath. I'm getting things straightened out now. Found out the girl who was going to find the info to fill in the blanks and STILL WILL do so, won't get to do anything for a few days more. I can't let 3/3 come around like it is since I finally turned on your plugin for all themes. Today is Ronald Weasley's birthday and I had to put that up there.
Ok... so I'm a bit nuts. I admit it. Just wanted you to know I love this plugin and we are all going to have so much fun reading the events for that day all throughout the year.
Thanks Lynx

Thanks. Got it up and going. Looks great. You know, I might be blind, but when I went to write a review in the plugin library for your plugin, I can't find anything to click to do so. Looks like someone else did before me. I'm just scratching my head. How'd he do that? LOL! I've been busy doing research last night and early this morning. This is so fun seeing what all has happened on all of these dates. Thanks. Lynx

Glad you like it, Skidjit. There should be a button (Review this plugin) under the bottom review. If it's not there, you may want to ask in support. Can't wait to see what some of these dates show.

Update: Version 1.0.4 will be released soon. - Removed ALL hard-coded breaks. You will need to add them in the Event Description HTML boxes to have any added back in. - Fixed a bug that would cause the display to break if any of the Advanced tab fields were left blank. It will now properly use the defaults if blank. - Added a new Settings tab option - a custom No Events Today message. This is also an HTML box. The hard-coded one has been placed in as the default, but can be changed now. I'll update this thread when it's been accepted into the library. EDIT: Please note that this will be the last update of this plugin. If it needs fixing after V6 launches (if it breaks), I'll make the fixes to it to get it working again. Otherwise, unless there's any other options you'd like to see, it's doubtful this will get any more updates. TO NOTE: I am going to be working on a more "general" type of plugin that will be based off of OTD. Most of the current options will be in the new one, but that one will also allow changes to the title bar text as well as have some "pre-made" titles to choose from. For those interested, it will utilize different variable names, so there shouldn't be a conflict if both are used. You can also see a custom No Event Today message running on the forum linked in my sig.
