Description:
This will add a button next to quick reply where you can generate a random number and automate a post with bbcode.

Usage:
Name Your Button
Choose Your Board
Add a Range of Numbers
Add Your Custom Text - Inserting "randomnumber" where you want your number to appear.

Workaround for Full Reply: support.proboards.com/post/6683573/thread requires custom post template plugin

is there any way to make this appear after a post rather than on its own. Ie every time someone posts they can grab a ticket and the ticket number will show along with the post comment rather than on its own? At the moment if you post a few sentences and then hit the grab ticket button the actual post disapears

That originally wasn't part of this request. Is there a good reason why someone would want to generate a random number with the users own text?

Thank you for the reply. I think there is a very good reason and one that would make this possibly the most downloaded plugin. Almost every board owner wants to encourage posts. I was going to do a prize competition where every time someone posted they could grab a ticket. I did a bit of research and found that this would increase the post count on my forum significantly. The more posts the more replies and the forum grows by itself. I apologise for not realising this was a requested plugin as i only looked in the plugin library and not on the support/plugins forum. As a standalone its still five stars.

To clarify I dont want the text to generate the number I would like the board users to be able to do a quick reply with their comments and then grab a ticket so that both their comments and the ticket will show in the post. That would make forums FLY P̌̓aͧś̀t̀u͒le͆o͂2̀3̃̓

So you are looking more for it adding your text on Each Post whether they click a button or on full reply etc?

pretty much. I want to encourage people to post and would like them to be able to grab a ticket every time they post. Basically the ticket would appear on their post along with the text they posted.


I would be a great way to get forums moving if every time someone made a post they could grab a ticket.

Sadly I think that this is kind of the opposite of the direction I want this particular plugin to go. Since it doesn't work on mobile, I think that optional works for this situation better than automatic, which is why I picked it up. Now I would say that when v6 drops the plugin idea that you are requesting would be a great plugin. However I wouldn't want to "update" this plugin to accomplish those goals. You are still free to request this plugin in the "request a plugin" board. I might consider doing it in the near future when I'm caught up on my current projects. But as I said starting with this plugin to accomplish those goals would require to start coding from scratch. I appreciate your idea and welcome more like it.

I was planning on using this for something resembling an in-house LOTTO system. People would pay a nominal fee (using our in-house currency) and they'd get their randomly generated LOTTO ticket by pressing the random number button. Right now, this plugin isn't formatted like LOTTO (pick 6 balls, each ball is assigned a number from, say, 1-50), unless I can have the random number button generate 6 numbers (which correspond to my "balls."). Or generate N numbers, with each number being in the range 1-to-M. For example, N=6 and M=50.

So, here's an example of LOTTO numbers:

17-34-20-21-4-11

I'm okay with having this feature only in certain boards because I was going to limit it to our GAMBLING board anyway.

I have not downloaded and installed this yet. I was just reading the description and the thread posts.

As is, I guess I'd just have it generate a 6-digit number from 000001-999999. (The leading zeros would be assumed to be there.)
