Automotive forum Banner Request

Hello! My name is Brandon and I just created an Automotive forum theautoclub.freeforums.net I am in desperate need of an attractive banner to put on my forum. My forum is a legit forum and one that I am very passionate about. I really want a forum where people with a passion for cars, trucks, and motorcycles can come together and talk about what they are passion about..

so I would GREATLY appreciate it if someone could make me a banner to be the crown of my new community. I know you guys who create these things are really talented so I literally can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

I'm not saying, I will take this on, but more information would be helpful.

What size banner? What colors?

Do you have any public domain images you would like to incorporate?


All of this information would point a designer in the right direction.

Thanks LUV for the suggestion. So I am not sure exactly how to get the dimensions of the default banner that proforums uses. I am just looking for the default dimensions. I think I want a banner of like a somewhat close up (like if you were driving on it when you look at the banner) of a lone 2 way highway and maybe a desert kind of scenery in the back ground, or maybe like a night time city scenery with a beautiful picture of a road. Its an Auto club and the common denominator is all 3 vehicle types drive on the road. Its hard to explain what exactly i want, but I'm really looking to balance the banner to focus on the road and beautiful scenery. I also want it to say "The Auto Club" in a cool font that kinda fits in with the banner.

I hope this helps, its hard to describe how i see it in my head.

ram89 , if you go to your admin panel, visual editor tab, you should see the forum width there. Is it a set pixel width or a percentage?

Also, Google search public domain images with specifics such as desert highway and see if there is an image you like, and copy the link here.


Is the default theme that I see as a guest the colors you would like to compliment in the banner?

I went to the visual editor like you said, and it said "100px", does that help? Yes I was trying to make the forum and the banner compliment each other.

100px is the height of the banner. You'll want something higher than that.

I need the width of your forum ~ not the banner.

Hey LUV, I really appreciate you taking the time to walk me through this. I checked the width and it said 90%

I also found this image among the list, and I really enjoyed it.

I think the vision i have for this forum is more a classy feel.. like I wouldn't mind changing some of the buttons and stuff to like classy icons like a "Route 66" icon for new or no new posts for each section..

Ok, ram89 , I can work with that photo and put your forum's name on the banner.

I'll make a banner that's 750px and we'll see how that works.

I won't be able to get to it until Monday ~ since it's a holiday weekend and I'm busy with preparations for it.

If that's not ok, and someone else volunteers, that's fine.

Otherwise, I'll start the project on Monday.

I really like the first one you did! I wouldn't change a thing on the words and icon that has a cool steering wheel on it. can you make the background on the first image similar to the second image background. where its a little clearer and not as faded as much.

Sure, not a problem.I made the background lighter in that one, so the type really stands out.

But I can darken it. But before working on it, can you please test for size, ram89 ?

Awesome thank you so much! I'll be getting on my computer soon and I'll test fit it and let you know if any adjustments are needed. Is there and chance you could post one without the car in the center, just so I could have the option. Great add in by the way?
