Yeah, that's why I brought up Garry's Mod. GMod lets you do modifications to games. There's this thing in GMod called Prop Hunt. I believe you can upload maps from other games, like Call of Duty, and then the objective of Prop Hunt is to find people who hide as props throughout the map. Like Kami said, it's just additional content. Please make this forum!!

I am seriously considering this as I am a gamer. I currently play on Xbox One. I've been gaming for probably 5 or 6 years now and kind of wanted to create a community of my own for gamers by gamers. I already have a couple ideas in mind for what I do want to have on the site, but I wanted to get some feedback from the general public. So, if I were to create a gaming forum, what would you like to see? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnddd GO! Depends a lot on the kind of gaming that you are into.Personally I like to see original content that either falls under the [guides] and [how to] utility section or the just plain hillarious and/or the not usefull but entertaining category. Ideally a combination of the two.IE: hardcore gaming with vast, detailed and indepth game data analysis but also with a dash of siliness thrown into the mix. My best advice: Dont cover the type of gaming you are not passionate about ,your members will spot that in 0.005 second flat ? I also like to see a lot of work done on the structure and appearance of the forum itself.Gaming forums imo need to set the bar higher than other type of forums ,looks and esthetics are important imo,it doesnt have to be commercial grade but it should be more than the plain vanilla. In the same token lots of embedded videos help spark my interest and ofcourse pics for everything.Pics or it didnt happen. There is a fantastic plug in that allow image uploads without having an account to 3rd party site that facilitate this. That's pretty much the hook for me.I run a fairly active gaming site myself (about 800 members) and the above formula worked well for me. Best of luck, fellow gamer!

Thank you saltin! My plan for this website is for it not to be limited to just what I'm personally interested in. I kind of want to try making it all-inclusive in the hopes of attracting a much wider audience. So I'd want to have the 'how-to' content, the nonsensical entertainment, etc. Of course this means I'll need to recruit people who know all the different kinds of gaming or who may specialize in a particular area. A whole other ball game! Any tips and tricks on how to make that kind of set up work for the site, please share! ^_^

Like, if you only play Overwatch don't start a general Blizzard forum or FPS / MOBA forum. Or more generally, if you like RPGs only don't also try and incorporate non-RPGs because you won't be as motivated to participate. But if you have a gaming forum as a whole, it'll be easier to find people from all corners of the community to help out so you don't have to be passionate abt every game or genre, and can just have a passion for gaming as a whole.

Right! And I do a lot of FPS myself but I do like the occasional MMORPG and other RPG games as well. FPS is my personal favorite. I'm big on Battlefield 4 right now, and I split that with GTA Online.

Be sure to have some talk about retro games too. 8 and 16 bit FTW.

Hey Trent, I definitely want to include older systems and games on the forum as well! Let's go back to the days of Atari! ^_^

Definitely will!
Does anyone else have any ideas? Aside from just the game content, what else would you guys be looking for?
