Hi - I'm not a plugin developer but I'm curious about what is possible. I have thousands of visitors from reddit after I post my content as links to there. When people come from reddit coudl I (in theory) greet them? or do we not have access to this browser referral information?
thanks!

In javascript you can query document.referrer which would reflect the referrer sent in the HTTP header by the browser but due to privacy and security concerns, and ways to mitigate them, this feature has become notoriously unreliable over the years. If a user hasn't disabled their referrer then it can still be used.
