How to create custom profileboxes like the ones shown here?

I'm going to try to ask this again, but worded a little better, if I can.

The site that I've taken these screenshots from has shut down, so I can't really ask how they did these boxes, how they placed them around in these specific spots instead of just the standard straight up and down custom profile fields.
These are resized, obviously placed specifically, and they look very nice.

I would absolutely love to have something like this! But I don't know how to do it. How did this person make these boxes look the way they do? How do you make custom boxes like this?

It requires manually customizing the layout template for the User Profile in Admin > Structure > Layout Templates > User Profile. I can make a simply layout for you if you specific what you want in side the "boxes", how many, in what structure, etc. If you can make a simple graphic on paint or a photo editor to give me a visual of what you would like, that would be best.
