Hi,
I want to change my info board to look something like on this site: wolfsimrpg.proboards.com (not mine, just an example)
On the info board on that one, I want it to look like that - how it shows the Members Online, not showing members online in last 24hr, etc. I also like the "Member" is our newest member! above the # members, # threads & # posts.
How do I get this to work on my forum? Thanks
PS Is this the right spot to post it? I get confused with stuff like this

PS Is this the right spot to post it? I get confused with stuff like this I got started on this ( test site) but have a few questions. ---First, if you look at the title in the right box on the site you linked to, it says "Members who visited today" which isn't who is online at the time it doesn't sound like to me. Sounds like online in the last 24 hours. Can you clarify? ---In the middle box are those totals of staff, members and guests the last 24 hour or online at the moment? ---Also, that space below the staff, members, guests is just empty? That truthfully looks a bit odd, imo. Do you think they have that so only members will see who is/was online ? Just a reminder, I just got started and have tweaking to do but while will finish after I get the above clarified.

First Question - Oh yeah, I believe it is like 24hr. I wouldn't mind that now that you mention it on my forum.
Second Question - Middle box looks like online at the moment.
Third Question - Well, it is a little odd. Perhaps changing the "member" is our newest member! under it?
I looked at your test forum and it looks just like I want it to look like. If you can, move the newest member feature inside the middle box and block all that empty space below.
But then on the left box is empty....I got it!
Put the newest member feature all on the left box.
Put the members:#|| etc below the sentence in the middle box.
Then leave the right box normal.
Sorry If I'm bad at explaining.....

So just to clarify and make sure I'm getting this right. First (left) box only has the newest member. Second box (middle) will have totals of who is online at the moment and then below that the MEMBERS: 4|| THREADS: 12|| POSTS: 47 which is moved from the first box to the middle box. Last box(right) will stay as is but with members in the last 24 hours Is the above correct or no? (I did go switch things per what I think you said you wanted: putteraroundviii.proboards.com/ )

All righty, here ya go @quadrill. This is the css you add to the bottom of your style sheet: ( Admin> Themes> Advanced Styles & CSS> Style Sheet>) .info,.info last{padding:0px!important;text-align:center;vertical-align:top!important;} #left_info{width:33%;padding:0px;background-color:#eeeeee;vertical-align:top!important;} #middle_info{width:33%;padding:0px;background-color:#eeeeee;vertical-align:top!important;} #right_info{width:33%;padding:0px;background-color:#eeeeee;vertical-align:top!important;} #newest{text-align:center;padding:4px;} #mem_thr_pst,#stf_mem_gst{ text-align:center; font-size:9px; text-transform:uppercase; padding:8px; background-color:#eeeeee; border-bottom:1px solid #dddddd; } #stf_mem_gst{margin-top:0px; } #empty_box{ width:100%;padding:4px; border-bottom:1px solid #dddddd;margin:0px; font-size:9px; text-transform:uppercase; } #last_online{width:100%;padding:4px; margin:0px!important; font-size:9px; text-transform:uppercase; } #users_title{text-align:center;padding:8px 0px 4px 4px; margin-top:-3px;background-color:#eeeeee; border-bottom:1px solid #dddddd; } .container.stats .title-bar{text-align:center; }
And then in your home template (Admin Home> Themes> Layout Templates>Home) you'll need to go to about line 25 where it starts with: {if $[show_stats]} and from that line down you will replace with this: {if $[show_stats]} <div class="container stats"> <div class="title-bar"><h2>Forum Information & Statistics</h2></div> <div class="content"> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td id="left_info"> <table> <tr> <td class="info"> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td id="newest">$[newest_user]<br> is our newest member </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </td> <td id="middle_info"> <table> <tr> <td class="info last"> <div id="stf_mem_gst">$[total_staff_online] Staff || $[total_members_online] Member{if $[total_members_online] != 1}s{/if} || {if $[view_guests_online_link]}<a href="#" class="$[view_guests_online_link.class]">{/if}$[total_guests_online] Guest{if $[total_guests_online] != 1}s{/if}{if $[view_guests_online_link]}</a>{/if}.</div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td id="mem_thr_pst"> <span>Members: $[total_members] ||</span> <span>Threads: $[total_threads] ||</span> <span>Posts: $[total_posts]</span> </td> </tr> </table>
<td id="right_info"> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td class="info last" vertical-align="top"> <div id="users_title">Users Visited Today</div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td id="last_online"> {foreach $[online_user_24]} $[online_user_24]{if $[online_user_24.invisible]} <span class="small">(invisible)</span>{/if}$[online_user_24.comma]{/foreach}{if $[total_online_not_shown_24]}, and <a class="$[view_todays_active_members_link.class]" href="$[view_todays_active_members_link.href]">$[total_online_not_shown_24] more...</a>{/if} </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>
</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> </div> {/if}
If you prefer to just replace the whole home template rather than find that line then here it is: $[news] {foreach $[category]} $[category.anchor] <div class="container boards"> <div class="title-bar bbcode"><h2><div class="title_wrapper">$[category.display_name]</div></h2></div> <div class="content cap-bottom"> $[category.board_list] </div> </div> {/foreach} {if $[legend]} <div class="container legend"> <div class="title-bar"><h2>Legend</h2></div> <div class="content"> <table> <tr> {foreach $[legend]} <td>$[legend.icon] <span>$[legend.name]</span></td> {/foreach} </tr> </table> </div> </div> {/if}
{if $[show_stats]} <div class="container stats"> <div class="title-bar"><h2>Forum Information & Statistics</h2></div> <div class="content"> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td id="left_info"> <table> <tr> <td class="info"> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td id="newest">$[newest_user]<br> is our newest member </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </td> <td id="middle_info"> <table> <tr> <td class="info last"> <div id="stf_mem_gst">$[total_staff_online] Staff || $[total_members_online] Member{if $[total_members_online] != 1}s{/if} || {if $[view_guests_online_link]}<a href="#" class="$[view_guests_online_link.class]">{/if}$[total_guests_online] Guest{if $[total_guests_online] != 1}s{/if}{if $[view_guests_online_link]}</a>{/if}.</div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td id="mem_thr_pst"> <span>Members: $[total_members] ||</span> <span>Threads: $[total_threads] ||</span> <span>Posts: $[total_posts]</span> </td> </tr> </table>
<td id="right_info"> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td class="info last" vertical-align="top"> <div id="users_title">Users Visited Today</div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td id="last_online"> {foreach $[online_user_24]} $[online_user_24]{if $[online_user_24.invisible]} <span class="small">(invisible)</span>{/if}$[online_user_24.comma]{/foreach}{if $[total_online_not_shown_24]}, and <a class="$[view_todays_active_members_link.class]" href="$[view_todays_active_members_link.href]">$[total_online_not_shown_24] more...</a>{/if} </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>
</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> </div> {/if}
Let me know if you have any questions or issues.

I did the first one, but I can't get the second code to work. And I'm a little confused about the other way you said I could do it.

I did the first one, but I can't get the second code to work. And I'm a little confused about the other way you said I could do it. For the "Home" template I gave you two options. You can just replace only the part I changed (2nd code box) or replace your whole home template using the template code I put in spoiler tags. Some people are just nervous about finding the correct part to replace so I just gave you the whole thing, if that makes senses. Does that explain better or no?

By whole home tewmplate, you mean delete everything in it and replace it with the code?

By whole home tewmplate, you mean delete everything in it and replace it with the code? Yes, the whole thing if you replace it with the code I put in spoiler tags unless you have changed the upper part of the home template(categories/legend) that you don't want to mess up. Why it is always nice to have a test site where you can do things first before moving to your real site. Actually, you don't even have to have a test site. You can just create a new theme and try it on that theme. But there is also always the option of setting it back to default if you goof up or something isn't right. (Also, just in case you don't know, setting the home template back to default won't hurt anything else. It just affects the home template and nothing else.) Oh and sorry, I missed your post. If I'm not tagged, I tend to miss a few responses from time to time.

I tried deleting everything and entering the code but it didnt work, i don't know why. When you say it didn't work do you mean nothing changed? If nothing happened then you forgot to save it after you pasted the new code in or you put it in the wrong template from the one you have set in your profile because this is a major remodel and it would have looked very different.

I hit preview changes and it looks all weird....I don't know what I'm doing wrong?!
And yes, I mean nothing happens, or something does happen and it looks super bizarre. Also in the code some things are red as thought they don't work, is the code wrong? I don't know just suggesting random things cause I can't figure out what is wrong.....

I'm not sure what to tell you. I just now put it on a different test site and it looks fine to me. You did add the css to your style sheet and then the whole code in spoiler tags to your HOME template, correct?
