leif, this thread is for discussion of the Ad Reporting tool and in general how it works. If you are experiencing a particular issue with an ad or the inability to report an ad, it's best to start your own thread so the matter can be looked in to. Thanks.

Pro tip: Proboards will display ads per page(thread) If you wish to avail of a certain ad to display on your forum, firstly you need to see if any ads are available for your thread topic(NBA, football, etc). An example: google your topic, if NO ads display on the page, then NO you won't get an ad relevant to your content, you will get a random ad. On the other hand If your threads speaks about relevant stuff to an ad, then it has more of a chance of showing, once you build trust with google. This pro tip is not clear if it's referencing a regular PB forum or one with AdSense. However for all intents and purposes this tip is not entirely accurate. In the case of ProBoards forums (and most sites that use ad providers), it is an automated process based on algorithms and filtered demographic information. It's also important to note that ads primarily target the user and not the forum directly. As an example, a forum has 10 members online at the same time and all 10 could be served a different ad. What determines what ad a user sees is influenced by the the user's browsing habits, demographic information, ISP/Carrier, forum content, ad availability, and a host of other factors. An admin can not control the ads that display for members of the forum. Example: At lunch today I did a web search for a particular item. Later while visiting forums (and even other non-PB websites) I was seeing Amazon ads depicting the item I searched for - it didn't matter the genre of the forum or topic of the website. The thing to note over all is that we do have filtering controls. We tell the advertisers to exclude certain types of ads as they do not meet the quality of ads we want shown to our members. Unfortunately as another member pointed out a few posts back, sometimes ads are mis-coded (intentionally or not) so that the "unwanted" ads slip through the filtering process. Neither we or the ad provider wants this. Remember providing ads is a business too. If the reputation of the ad provider is not good, they will lose clients. So while the type of ads that appear on a forum can not be directly influenced for all members, the removal of the 'unwanted' ads can be via the Ad-Reporting tool. Working together we can make a difference. Eradicating the redirect from your forum experience will also remove it from the experience of all the other members.
