Looking to Elaborate Theme Made for Game Guild

What is your demographic? — Gaming forum for a Guild that has yet to be made. The game is called Mu Legend and is a Korean based MMORPG that is the sequel to Mu Online and is still in the Beta development, but should be going live sometime in early 2017. I am looking to recruit people to the guild prior to the launch of the game but while the game is in beta it is very hard to keep in contact with one another and make this happen. I need a place to bring us together in terms of guide creation, fan art, videos, streaming, and more prior to the live launch.



What features do you need? — An earnable and tradable currency that is taxed something like 10% or even 20% when traded or something... I want people to be able to trade the currency for either favors in game, items in game, favors on the forum such as signature creation or maybe even post recognition for good findings? But I need a way for it to be taxed because over a long enough period of time the currency would become useless do to inflation for active players on the forum if that makes sense. Also maybe some way of earning the currency? Like, 1st post = x amount of coin, 10th = x amount of coin, 50th post = x amount of coin. I want people to be rewarded for being active on the forum sorta thing.
A shout box with multiple tabs that has a hide feature at the bottom of the screen :(General Chat / Looking for Group / Forum Trading / In Game Trading that sorta thing,
A calendar hide able preferably at the bottom to the right of the shout box for in game events and such.
A message board of some sort where I can post things that are important or urgent for people to know when they log in kinda thing, preferably across the top somewhere, but below the the banner.
I also need an easy way to link or embed videos and pictures for people that aren't very tech savvy so they don't have to code it themselves sorta thing.
Also some different icons maybe? Something that better fits the darker color scheme of the page and feel for the page.



Do you need to take anything away? — Not sure yet, everything is very new to me here and I am not very tech savvy.


What aesthetics do you need? —

I need this image in the top left corner and I would like it to say Anarchy horizontally across the top and Order going vertically. Was thinking font wise for this logo a little more devilish looking for the Anarchy and something a bit classy for the Order. Don't know my fonts well so ganna have to leave this one up to the designer. Also for the color scheme I would like Black, White & Red. Preferably a darker page over all, staring at a bright gaming forum all day put a lot of strain on the eyes, but not sure how to incorporate the white exactly, If I have to knock the dust off my photoshop desktop icon and edit the logo to have a black background I will, but like i said its been forever since I've done anything techy.

I feel like i went into too much detail and not enough detail all at the same time. 


To me this all seems like WAAAAY too much to ask for... including for free. I also don't know what the rules are on this because I didn't see it posted anywhere so please let me know If I am out of line for saying this but I would be willing to compensate the person making this for their time. I can't muster up much, but I sure we can come to some form of payment. If this is not aloud please let me know and I will edit the post ASAP. I also want it to be known that I have been waiting for this game for over 8 years, and this is kinda my moment to make things happen with it. Its really important to me and I know your guys time is valuable. If anymore information is needed please let me know.

Hi,

I've never made a theme before, but I imagine it is easier for a theme maker to create a theme if they have a link to your forum. I could be wrong, but I know that I would find it easier if it was me.

I was going to put a link to my forum but I thought I read somewhere that it is considered "Advertising" or some crap? Or is that a link to your website? Maybe I misread it.

There currently is not a set rules for themes (I have spoken to an admin about this already and I believe one is being discussed) but as a general rule, the coding / request / support boards do ask for a URL, either a) to make sure it is a PB-hosted forum that is being served, and/or b) to assist with any troubleshooting.

While I am unable to fill this request at this time, I do feel that the content of your request is a little too in-depth. You do have some good points -- and I genuinely thank you for reading my requesting tips thread! -- but what you are asking for is beyond the scope of most designers' abilities on this forum.

In particular:

This is better suited as a plugin request; once the plugin is made, a theme designer can see what elements the plugin author used and can design around the feature.

Similarly, theme designers are unable to create a chat box from scratch. If the PB shoutbox or a third party shoutbox does not suit your needs, this will be a very in-depth, very specific code that would likely only benefit your forum and it will be very difficult to fill. You'd also need access to server space to host the content of the chat, and I do not think many people would be willing to front the costs of that for a single forum. A theme designer will be able to design with this type of content in mind, but will not be able to give you this content, if that makes sense. A space can be created for you to add in a chat of this nature, and styled appropriately, but it must already exist.

This already exists (: If you click "reply" (and do not use the quick reply) both the BBCode editor and the Preview editor already have buttons with which individuals can embed content, add images, etc.

The rest of your request seems reasonable, but I would recommend also including the following
- a few colour schemes you like (http://paletton.com is a good place to get colour schemes!)
- a few example forums and/or websites you think capture the overall feel of your goals (tho, ofc, they cannot be replicated exactly)
- links to the font or fonts you'd like used


One last bit of advice: Large requests, particularly when such in depth coding is required, might be better received if there were payment involved. While I'm not particularly saying you HAVE to pay, just know that you get what you pay for. If you have very specific needs, its easier to justify spending time on something of this magnitude if one were compensated. If you can't or don't want to, that's okay too! But just some food for thought.

Just looking to close this thread, I really appreciate the detailed answers by the way. But I was also able to kinda do things myself after getting into it. Took me a day of photoshop to make the banner and set up my twitch for when the game server is back open, but I almost appreciate it more that everyone here wasn't able to help me as I was able to kinda put together something of my own that isn't exactly great... but I did it... Ya know? Just feels good to have done it on my own, and it will only get better with time sorta thing.
