Hi, I'm setting up a general forum called bibble babble. I'm stuck for what I should put as rules, can anyone help me? I'd like either : A suggestion of one or more rules, orA whole set of rules. cheers, Crab.

pornographic or other illegal content If you're going to add that to your rules, at least link to the Terms of Service. All boards can't have that. Crab, what kind of a forum is it? If it's a general forum, you don't need a whole set. If there's a theme, then you'd probably want to sit down and think about what you really want to allow.

It's a general forum, so I'll probably state the obvious and then link to the TOS

*shrug* barring like, genre-specific rules (eg RPs) I personally don't believe in a lot of rules.
A majority of behaviour is outlined in the TOS and the rest of it is just basic human decency. My non-RP related rules tend to go something like this:
1. Treat others the way you want to be treated 2. Keep flashing gifs to a minimum out of consideration for photosensitive users 3. Obtain permission to use fanart for your posts, icons, and signatures 4. Use your common sense when interacting with other users. 5. [rule about the amount of cursing that is or is not allowed]
Then add at the bottom 'By registering with [forum] you agree to follow the above rules and the pb tos and community guidelines' with the latter two items linked to their respective pages.
Honestly like, in my experience people who don't read the rules should STILL be able to behave properly on the forum if they use their head and are kind and considerate (barring, again, genre-specific rules). If they can't do that, do you really think they'd follow the rules if they were longer? just my 0.02.

Thankyou for the help, I'm keepimg my rules below 5, and you can see them here.. bibble-babble.boards.net/thread/2/bibble-babbles-forum-rulesIs there anything else that I should add?

looks fine to me. You may want to define what you consider spam (e.g. Some people allow rapid fire multiple posts but others think it's spam) but they seem simple enough to me.
You can always adjust as necessary.
