How to add a chatbox?

I can't figure out how to add my chatbox to the little sidebar. Can someone help?

Does the chatbox come with a code that you can copy/paste inside the sidebar for the theme?

Yes, I'm just having trouble finding where to post the code. I know I have to go to the forum wrapper, and I found the code for the little chatbox sidebar. I can't figure out where in that code to put the chatbox code.

@asher200 Alright cool. Go to your admin panel and navigate to Themes > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper replace the $[shoutbox] variable with the code that the chatbox service gives you. Note, however, if it's javascript it will be required to be surrounded by <script></script> tags.

@asher200 Perhaps you added it in the wrong place?



For reference the shoutbox variable I am referring is located on line 19. Also, be sure that you have the correct theme selected in the "Current Theme" selection box.

I think I put it in the right spot. Do I need to "save theme" for it to show up on the forum? Right now i'm viewing a preview, and it's not there.

@asher200 Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention that, sorry! Also, make sure that you are refreshing the preview page after you save the theme as well.  

EDIT: Just to clarify, the layout template editor is not live like the visual editor. I can see how one would get confused. Any other questions, let me know.
