How do I change the banner image on the mobile version?

Hi there, so I recently changed my banner image to a custom png. image.   Now, when I view the forum on my laptop, it displays correctly, but when I view the forum on my mobile phone, it still shows the default solid color banner that it was before, instead of the new custom one. Does anyone know how I can change the mobile version to display my new custom banner? Thanks!

You can't. The mobile version uses a separate CSS file that we can't access beyond basic colours (set in your theme settings).

This will change once v6 is released though.

Thank you for the response. That's very surprising to me, given that the majority of traffic will come from mobile devices. Is there a release date for v6?

Thank you for the response. That's very surprising to me, given that the majority of traffic will come from mobile devices. Is there a release date for v6?

In fairness, the original thought was for people with limited data -- forums can be incredibly customised so PB was originally concerned that mobile users without a high data cap might wind up using up all their data.

But as the years have progressed (bear in mind, v5 was released in 2011 or 2012) strides have been made regarding responsive coding & design, and due to more wide spread smartphone usage things have gotten a lot better regarding data as well.

There's no release date set at the moment, and there won't be one until PB staff feel they can meet the deadline with no delays. I'd recommend signing up for updates by clicking the red phoenix at the top or bottom of this forum. (:

If you mean specifically on mobile, I'm not 100% sure -- I believe if you create a custom page (admin > structure > custom pages) and set it to the default landing page (admin > forum settings > navigation), it will still default to the mobile version view unless the user clicks on the "desktop" link at the bottom of the forum.

Desktop users, however, will see the splash page.
