Hi.
When changing the smiley BBCodes to bracketed words, e.g. [smile], the brackets revert to the HTML entities when the BBCode frame is refocused. In other words...
[smile]
becomes
[smile]
when toggling from the Preview frame to the BBCode frame regardless of whether it's manually entered or selected from the drop-down, nor does it seem to matter if it's initially entered into either frame. This doesn't happen with parentheses, slashes, or colons. It can be confusing for an average user. Is this something that can be fixed or am I just out of luck if I want to use bracketed words for smileys?
Thanks.

You're out of luck, I think; because the brackets get converted to their HTML equivalent to prevent issues with interfering with actual UBBC. For example I used to use [P - Kami] in posts to indicate that a thread was "pending" my approval, but it wound up being treated like the UBBC [p] opening tag.
You could try using the censored words list to change [ to [ and whatnot to see if that offset it.

Brilliant idea! Unfortunately, it doesn't work because [ changes to [ in the censored words list upon refresh, effectively rendering [ as a censored word to be replaced with [. LOL! <smile> works ok, though, so I reckon I'll just have to use that instead. Thanks, Kami.
