The principle behind this plugin is similar to my Navbar Link Popup plugin - except that this plugin:
- shows links on every page, not just specific boards
- does not give a popup - it works like any other link in your navbar. Click and go, basically
- has 2 options not in the other plugin: target and font weight


This plugin simply APPENDS the links added in it to your navbar. You can rearrange them in the UI, but they will all be appended (this doesn't put them in a specific place in the navbar, such as between Home and Search, for example). Rearranging them in the UI simply rearranges what order they get listed at the end of the navbar.

This plugin offers the following settings in the UI to customize:

- Navbar Link Name: This field must have a name or you will get an error popup.

- Text Color: This is the text color of the Navbar Link Name. Leaving this blank results in white (#ffffff) being used (default).

- Background Color: Each link name can also have its own background color. Leaving this blank results in the plugin setting it as transparent.

- Destination: This is a required field and will also give an error popup if left blank. The is where the FULL URL of your destination link goes.

- Target: Lets you set the anchor target attribute to _self or _blank.

- Font Weight: Lets you set the Navbar Link Name to either normal or bold font weight. This defaults to normal.

- Member Groups (1.0.1): Version 1.0.1 now lets you select which Member Group(s) will see the link, allowing you to have links show for some member group(s), but not everyone. Do not add any member groups if you want the link to show for everyone.

Nice and useful, thanks for it. If I can suggest something, it could be better if ypu include a hover for the buttoms.

Just hover text or just a tooltip with the URL designation?

Mmmmm I dont really understand the second, but I think the tooltip, an other option for when you put the cursor over the buttom it changes color.

I'll see what I can do about the tooltip, but no guarantees on that. I should be able to add another option for hover color though. I've got some other projects going on at the moment, but I'll get to this as soon as I can.

I like this plugin. I would like to see the ability to select groups for each option. My guess is this would require a key to do this.

That would not require a key. I would have to add that into the autoform and into the coding - but no key will be needed. I'll see what I can do.

I can't add that window to the plugin. This is what it will look like:




At the far right of each line, there will be a place where you can add member group(s) for each link. You just click the Add Groups and select which group(s) will see the link. If a member isn't in a listed group for that link, they won't see it. If you don't add any groups to a link, then everyone will see it.

This is actual better control, as the image you posted would affect the plugin as a whole - this method only affects each link, so each link can have different group(s) on it and anyone not in a listed group for that link won't see the link at all (unless left blank).

I've submitted the update, but it could be a few days before it gets accepted. Just check the library link in my first post. The new version # will be 1.0.1. I'll update this thread and my OP when I see it if / when it's approved.

I was testing it before going live. It works as expected with NO group defined. I re-installed but it still doesn't work.
If any group is specified the item is blocked. The only way the item shows is if no group is selected.

It worked perfectly on a vanilla theme - both with and without any group(s) added, so I'm thinking there might be something with your theme and / or templates that's stopping it. I'll look into it.

I have the same theme that is default when creating a forum. I disabled the other plugins. No help.
