simple help??

kinda feel stupid using proboards these days lol.. I use to be a wiz at this 10 years ago..  till all this new coding stuff.. that being said I am just trying to make a simple box at the top of my website with a black background so that the server stats for miscreated are visible (my site is "the4s.proboards.com") at the top (where the advertising banner is) you will almost see server stats.. I tried to use the plug in to put boxes on the side of my website so I could put it there but that plugin thing might as well been written in ancient sand script cause it made absolutely no sense to me at all.. (and i tried to read the tutorial.. that didnt help at all lol) I tried to go through these header/footer codes but I didnt see something that is simple.. so please a simple, watered down, idiot proof explanation would be greatly appreciated..

also is there maybe a site where someone tries to put those plug-in tutorials in some kind of "proboards for idiots" format? maybe complete with step by step pictures included description of how to use a plug-in? This (http://support.proboards.com/thread/440272/plugin-sidebar-redux-1-4) the line under CUSTOMIZATION may have made sense to most of you but I didnt have a CLUE as to what I needed to do.. old school codes were WAY easier to understand lol..

if its a simple thing that I just put in the header with a "replace this line with your server stats and your all set" then its all good.. if it requires a PHD in quantum physics I may need a breakdown explanation..  this is the code I need displayed

Just go to admin > structure > headers & footers

Select either 'global' for all pages, or 'main' for any non-posting page, or a specific board, and copy and paste the iframe HTML in. No plugin required! Plugins are to make javascript components easier, not for simple HTML.

I got that.. but you cant see it cause of the colors.. and I understand how the headers and footers thing work.. if you go to my site you will see that I added that in but you cant see the server stats which is why I wanted to put it in its own box with a different colored background so you can see it

Things to change:
background-color: #fff;
width: 400px;
