Placing Icons beside Usernames

Can someone give me an idea of how to place icons beside user names.

For example, like the site nbafantasy1.proboards.com has. Under "Users Online", it shows the team Icon and Team name. I don't know if there is a plug-in or something needed to do this.

This plugin allows members to place their own image next to their name: www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/266

This plugin only the administrator or staff with permissions can add an icon or image: www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/58

Also members can add their own icon by changing their display name and copy/paste a text icon, but could not use an image with a url.

Does the image automatically resize with the Admin plug-in?
