Each member that joins my forum I want to have an Agent number. (Example - the second member to join will be Agent 2).
I would like to make this appear in several different places, but firstly I want it to do something like this in the Welcome PM:
Welcome, Agent [number]! Blah blah blah...
I would like it to make it go up each time a member joins. How can I do this?
Also, if its needed....My forum is krakenagency.boards.net

Templates wouldn't help this particular issue as you cannot dictate the contents of a PM that way. I'd recommend checking in the Plugin Request Board to see if someone can whip something up using the user ID. Where else would you want it to appear?

Not quite sure yet, basically wherever it will mention the user...Profile, threads, etc. Once I get more info I'll let you know, but for now the profile.

Okey, more info:
I would like, say to have a group called 'Agent #' and if the 5th member joins and is in that group, it would say Agent 5. How's this possible?
I would also like to make that group where the new member joins it automatically.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish here, because groups aren't meant to be used for one person only.

Oh, sorry, not groups - not sure what it was called, but something the member can be in that will make it Agent 7 if its the 7th member that joined, group or whichever

"Agent #$[current_user.id]"
or
"Agent #$[user.id]"
Would display the ID # of the user as the agent number. So for example, my user ID here on support is 156500 so it would display Agent #156500.

To make it appear in the profile, like the profile it shows when I post on a thread (<--- like this one) where would I put it?

Admin > Structure > Layout Templates > Mini Profile.
You will want to user the $[user.id] version, NOT the $[current_user.id] version. Be sure to put it within the <div> tags.

wrap the variable in a div tag with a unique class, something like:
<div class="agent-id"> Agent #$[user.id] </div>
make sure that this is immediately under the first div tag.
then in your css style sheet.
.agent-id { font-size: 16px; text-align: center; }

Thank you! Is it possible to add a rectangular box around it?
