Has anyone ever used Imageshack? I haven't. But looking through their ToS ~ I'm not sure a forum isn't comparable to a blog ~ which they consider commercial usage requiring a subscription.
imageshack.com/terms
I would contact their Support department in that link, if you are considering using them.

Have you closed and re-opened your browser and/or restarted your computer? Is there enough space on whichever storage device you're attempting to download to? Have you tried downloading a different file of comparable size from another source? A failed download can be due to an unstable connection to the server or a connection the server has prematurely terminated, but in my experience, failed downloads are just as often (if not more so) the result of an issue originating from the user's end. Insufficient available RAM, storage, or an over-burdened CPU can all cause a download to fail by either terminating the data write operation or by creating a bottleneck that exceeds the time-to-live connection limit.

I would contact their Support department in that link, if you are considering using them. I have been trying them out. Their TOS isn't very clear on this issue. You get to use it free for the first 30 days. I then expect they might charge me for the way I'm using it after that. However, I think the fee is around $30 instead of that ridiculous $400!

Yes. I don't know if it if I'm right, but it appears to me that it hangs up mostly due to high traffic volume. There are times when it works really easy for me, and other times when it just won't go at all. Try it off peak hours maybe.

Thanks for the info, m2marsh , for those who want to use ImageShake. But there are still free hosts out there though, like village.photos. Quick, easy and fast.
But I'll be putting all of my images for my themes, plugins and board on ProBoards' storage and using a host for my non ProBoards' images.
Hard lesson to learn. I'm more appreciative than ever that ProBoards has this feature.

Meh, well photobucket caught the reminder of my accounts today. It's been crazy trying to sort everything out. I went forum to forum no matter what platform they were fixing way too much lol. Now if I could get one of our wonderful admins/reds to check and make sure there isn't anything I missed on my forum.... *whistles softly*

You probably should start your own thread. Good luck! That's the experience I'm seeing too. They are finding people in waves and locking down their accounts.

Photobucket is doing this in waves so their website doesn't crash with everyone leaving them. Seriously though I've been wanting to leave PhotoBucket for over a year, too dang slow.
If you can get into your Photobucket account and download your folders into your computer your way ahead. Because I was already on the lookout for a new image host, I only had 1 folder that needed to be downloaded.
Good Luck to everyone dealing with this mess.

I just want to throw this out there: if you find a "work around" for Photobucket's block on hotlinking, I guarantee that this will not be permanent. Whether they catch it now or later when the initial lockdown is more stable, they will catch it so unless you are willing to pay that $400/yr you will, sooner or later, need to find a new host.

I want to state also that if you are looking for a replacement for photobucket, please read the sites' ToS thoroughly! I've already seen at least two suggestions for replacements where the service terms are the same as imgur and photobucket (i.e. not using them as a content delivery network / disallowing hotlinking), so a read prior to signing up will save you from future stress!
Good point Kami. I know photobucket is causing a lot of stress on a lot of forums. But no need to jump to another site with the same TOS.
