Hi. I'm trying to implement the Steam API into my forum so that users can sign in using their steam accounts, and so that when posting, users can see their steam account info like so: I have my steam web API key and this is their page on it: steamcommunity.com/devDoes anyone have experience in this that can help me?

So many reason why this is not a good idea. It's not something you should implement on a proboards forum.
The two big reasons: 1. Not using HTTPS protocol to transfer sensitive data 2. API key would be public(in the code)
even hybrid apps don't store a public API keys in the code, for security reasons, instead you would use an intermediary server to store your key and fetch the requests.

Thanks. I'm kind of clueless as to how this all works. Is there no way to allow signing in through steam and display steam credentials to other members?

Thanks. I'm kind of clueless as to how this all works. Is there no way to allow signing in through steam and display steam credentials to other members? Signing into ProBoards via Steam? No. PB's logins are on a separate system from the forum proper and cannot be altered, and due to the secure global login you cannot log into the forum in any other way. In theory you could use the Steam API to create a plugin to allow people to display their Steam info unrelated to logging in, but I don't know if there are any pitfalls to that.
