Board URL: allkindsofeverything.boards.netHello: I hope this is the correct place for this thread. I have a question regarding the copyright notice that I currently have in my Forum Wrapper template for all the different themes on my board. This is the code, which was kindly provided to me by ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥. <div class="center"><div class="copyright"><center><p class="bold"><font size="4">©2014 - 2017<br>All Kinds of Everything<br>All Rights Reserved.<br>Theme edited by Shaliza.</p></center></div> My question is... how do I get this area which shows under the footer on each theme home page, to have the same color background as the footer?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. ~Shaliza

Hi, Shaliza ~
Simply go to your Visual Editor Tab. The first section is "Forum". "Footer" is the last feature in the section. Just copy the color selection from there and add that to this code.
<font color="ffffff">
Just change the color 'fffff" to the one in the Visual Editor Footer section or any other complimentary color you may like in that area.
This is what the completed code will look like with the font color added.
<div class="center"><div class="copyright"><center><p class="bold"><font size="4"><font color="ffffff">©2014 - 2017<br>All Kinds of Everything<br>All Rights Reserved.<br>Theme edited by Shaliza.</p></center></div>

Hey there ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥... Thanks for the coding help, and you taught me how to change the font color of the Copyright Notice which is awesome. But my original question was how the background of the copyright notice can match the background of the footer (which is beige... color is e0d49f). I'm sorry for not making this clear. Thanks again! ~Shaliza

You made it clear, Shaliza . It was my misunderstanding.
Do you want it before the footer and in the beige area or after it?

No worries, ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥. I would like it after the links in the footer, if possible. Thanks again. ~Shaliza

Then the easiest way is to just add the color of the background to the copyright division code.
I've added the beige color you are currently using.
<div class="center"><div style="background-color:#e0d49f;><div class="copyright"><center><p class="bold"><font size="4">©2014 - 2017<br>All Kinds of Everything<br>All Rights Reserved.<br>Theme edited by Shaliza.<br></p></center></div>

Aww... thanks a million, ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥! That worked beautifully and it looks great. Now I just need to do this for all the themes, *after* I'm done re-linking images which is so time-consuming, sadly. But at least I don't have to worry about the copyright notice not showing up, anymore. Thanks again! hugs, Shaliza

You're welcome, Shaliza .
Happy to be of help.
I'm glad you tagged me, or I would have missed this thread.
And ugh, you don't have to tell me about time consuming. Since the P'Buckle debacle, lots of forum work is time-consuming.

((( ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥ ))) it looks like you left out a closing </font> along with a closing " and two closing </div> in the final bit of code you posted. I have rewritten it with the missing bits added in. <div class="center"> <div style="background-color: #e0d49f;"> <div class="copyright"> <center> <p class="bold"> <font size="4"> ©2014 - 2017<br /> All Kinds of Everything<br /> All Rights Reserved.<br /> Theme edited by Shaliza.<br /> </font> </p> </center> </div> </div> </div> Btw you can reduce the code back to the following. Setting the 10pt to the text size you want. <div class="center copyright" style="background-color: #e0d49f; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold;"> <p> ©2014 - 2017<br /> All Kinds of Everything<br /> All Rights Reserved.<br /> Theme edited by Shaliza.<br /> </p> </div>

Thanks, Nscalerr 🐺 . You're correct about reducing the code. But I normally don't in cases where I must add the same code but with different tags, in all of my themes. I keep things separate because some of my themes don't require a font size, color, etc. I want them to pick up the "default" size and don't put those codes in. So I just add individual tags. Just easier for me to spot, add or delete.
So when I gave it to Shaliza, not knowing which she would use and which weren't necessary, I kept things separate so she can remove a tag or not, depending on her theme and her choice. In the end, either works.

Since you already have the 'copyright' class you could just target that class per theme without having to use inline styling (which I recommend. Stylesheets are cached by the browser and therefore will not have to reload on every page load, whereas inline styling is not and would be reloaded every time).
That way, you don't need extraneous code and the CSS can be adjusted as needed, eg:
<div class="center copyright"> <p> ©2014 - 2017<br /> All Kinds of Everything<br /> All Rights Reserved.<br /> Theme edited by Shaliza.<br /> </p> </div>
And in the CSS:
.center .copyright { background-color: #e0d49f; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold; }

True, Kami . But that's two steps, though ~ template and stylesheet.
And when you have a number of themes . . . it can become a PITA.
One theme ~ no problem.

One theme ~ no problem. That doesn't change anything I said, nor does my statement invalidate what you said. I simply said that it could be done that way, and that it was my recommendation. If you (the general you) decide it is not worth it to you, for the sake of convenience or anything else, to do it this way, then that is your prerogative.
From a development aspect, there are a lot of bonuses to not using inline styles and using modern guidelines in your HTML and CSS, but not everyone cares to do so and if your goals don't need to utilise this (eg: better SEO rankings, performance optimisation) then that's okay!

Kami ,
I wasn't invalidating your comment. I understood and appreciated your input.
It's simply that when I decided to put a copyright on my themes, they were already numerous. TBH, I never really thought about it when I first started creating them. When I did, I wanted to add something simple. There's even a plugin for this purpose and that would easily have added it to all of my themes at one time.
But I wanted the copyright to be specific for every theme, so I went the simplest route for me ~ which was doing it in one place only.
And when Shaliza contacted me, she also had a number of themes, so I gave her the simplest route, as well.
But I understand where you are coming from and appreciate your knowledge.
