Thanks once again, Lynx . I can now see the others' scores. I had excluded a group called 'vampire' (members on probabtion after having violated our rules and regulations) from certain benefits, also regarding this plugin, but I could never think that if would affect everybody. Guess I know less about the admin functions than what I thought. To exclude a group, don't do it via keys. Go to Admin > Plugins > Manage and click the EDIT button for the plugin and exclude the group there. Check these guest-friendly threads: Member Opt-Out: codesndesigns.boards.net/thread/40/scavenger-hunt-plugin-setting-optionForced Opt-Out: codesndesigns.boards.net/thread/45/scavenger-hunt-forced-opt-outUse the Forced Opt-Out option if you don't want the member to be able to opt themselves back in.

This is very useful, Lynx . I have now blocked the vampires via the edit buton. So far, nobody has indicated that they want to opt out of the hunt, but if it happens, I'll know where to go for the relevant info. Thanks again! You have made a lot of users happy, since this contest is very popular with us. A couple have already picked several hundred prize items in just two days!

One of our users also has 'null' in their miniprofile counter. What does it mean? And I sometimes see a discrepancy between the number in the miniprofile and the leaderboard. Is there a way to fix this (not so extremely important) bug? Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to fix this (not so extremely important) bug? Thanks in advance! Tix Mascot, MSG is probably going to want to know what browser the null member is using, and if it is up to date. My null member was using an archaic browser. She fixed that, but remains with a null value on the Leaderboard and is getting the error message above when she clicks images now. However, MSG thinks she has a fix for that and we are testing it on my forum.
I'll let MSG explain about the discrepancies you will see from time to time. They happen on my forums as well. Good news is that the two counts do correct themselves when the member with the discrepancy clicks a new image. They don't lose any prize count.

Thanks for the kind info, m2marsh! I'll find out the details in due course, but I'll be offline for a week starting tomorrow. My wife and I will be going from Norway to Italy for the annual celebration of our grandson's birthday. This year, he'll turn 3. Back in business on 11 June.

Is there a way to fix this (not so extremely important) bug? Thanks in advance! Discrepancies between the leaderboard and the count in the mini-profile can occur if there is more than 1 person clicking an item at the same time - as it's trying to update the leaderboard for both, but can only write for 1 person at a time. As m2marsh stated, a discrepancy of just 1 or 2 can happen - especially on more active forums. Also as stated, their personal key does get updated, so it will have the correct count. For the person who got the null, please find out what browser they are using as well as if it's up-to-date.

Lynx, we have had vastly larger discrepancies on than that. Like several hundred. But it does correct itself once the member comes back and clicks a new image.

The only thing I can think of for that is if we go back to the stale data that we talked about. I think, unless I put a timer on a page that's got a prize item to click, discrepancies are going to happen, especially on more active forums where the chance of multiple people clicking an item could be more common. The leaderboard certainly isn't going to be 100% perfect because of the fact that the leaderboard key is basically a global key, whereas a member's personal count is in a private key - which is why their personal count should always reflect their actual count (as seen on their mini-profile). I don't think there's much more I can do in the lines of that, but I'll make inquiries.

To m2marsh, JJ, Tix Mascot. greenfox - and any others using this plugin: Is there a way to clear specific user's scores? There is now. Version 1.0.3 is now in the library and addresses 2 things: 1. A small codefix that will hopefully prevent anyone from getting a "null" as their count; and 2. A button that now appears on Profile pages that allow Staff to clear that particular member's key data - and only that person's data - as well as remove them from the leaderboard. When the button is clicked, it will set that person's count back to 0 and remove their entry from the leaderboard. WARNING: There is no check (yet) to ask "are you sure" when you click the button. Right now, the data gets cleared for that person as soon as the button is clicked. You will get a popup notice informing you that the data has been cleared. Be sure your Staff know not to just click the button to "test" it. Remember that "Staff" includes any member who is in any member group that has Staff set to Yes - whether that group is the current group being displayed or not for that member.

Lynx, just to clarify since I haven't loaded it up yet, that button isn't even there unless you're staff, correct? It's not there but grayed out for users or anything?
Would a staff person have to Edit Profile to see that button? What tab is it in, etc?
Maybe a screenshot?
Thanks

Thanks Yes, only Staff will even see the button. It's located on the profile page of each member for Staff: In the image, if I click the button, it will only affect my test account and no one else's. It would clear that account's count to 0 and remove that account from the leaderboard. Staff do not need to have the Edit Profile power to use. If they are Staff, the button shows up. If they are not Staff, no button.

Just as a heads-up to anyone using this plugin, there is already another update being worked on. A couple of things to note for the next update: 1. All Key permissions are going to be put into a new tab in the UI called Permissions. As a note, you may need to check to make sure the settings are correct [1]. If they aren't, you'll need to correct them. 2. The Data Clear button that is in Version 1.0.3 (the current version, as of this post) will be changed: - There will be a new permission setting in the new Permissions tab to where the forum owner can set which group(s) will have access to the Data Clear button on profile pages. My thoughts are - a regular Moderator is typically marked as Staff, but I wouldn't want them to be able to clear people's data. The new addition will give the owner more control over who can see/use the Data Clear button. - For those with access to the Data Clear button, there will be a confirmation dialog - requesting confirmation that you do indeed want to clear that person's data. Right now, it will clear on click with no confirmation.
There is no ETA on when I'll have this update ready, but it should be the near future. As a note, this will most likely be the last update (unless there are bug fixes that need to be done) until after V6 launches. Plans for after V6 launches include 2 things that have been requested, but not included yet: - Member's counts to show on their full profile page - A way to manually place where you want the "bag" and count to show on mini-profiles. Sorry, but those 2 will not be tackled until after V6 launches. Also, that may not be an all-inclusive list of features for after V6.
