The leaderboard is a HUGE hit on my forum. The members want Scavenger Hunt to be a permanent feature of the forum, and to play it repeatedly in tournaments. Would either of the two scenarios below be a possible game feature?

1) Game automatically goes into 'Maintenance Mode' when the first player reaches X number of points (prizes).

or

2) Game automatically goes into 'Maintenance Mode' after X number of days.

#1 is preferred over #2. We're looking for a way to have games end automatically without having to resort to screen captures or other methods.

I'll see what I can do. However, as I've said (maybe in other threads though), this month is very hectic for me. The beginning of September is when things will slow down for me so I can work on plugins again, so it may not be until then when I can see what I can do.

I have been using the original Scavenger Hunt plug in for some years now and I really like but am considering switching to the this one now.

I do have one question, is there a way to disable the leader board so no one sees it?

There's a couple of ways to do this:

1. Use a version prior to 1.0.0 - the leaderboard is not in there and you won't need room for an extra super key.

2. If you want the other additional options from newer versions, just don't place a link and don't set up a custom page for the leaderboard.


Using #2, you'll still need room for the 2nd super key, though. Just curious, when you say "is there a way to disable the leader board so no one sees it?", are you including yourself in that list? If you (as forum owner) want to see the leaderboard, then neither of the 2 options I listed above would be suitable. It can be done to show just for you, if that's what you want, but I'll have to come up with another solution.

Key space is not an issue. 

I want there to be a sense of mystery as who is in the lead because it's a very competitive contest that takes places over 3 months. Plus, we have bonus ways to receive points that the leader board won't be able to take into account.

It would make it easier on me actually, now that I think about it if I (and only I) could see the LB.

Any suggestions and thanks for your help!

Thank you so much for looking into this but I went forward with the older version. That being said, I would like to use this one for our spring event so I would still like to more forward but of course now these is no urgency. Thanks again for all your help.

I put the new Scavenger Hunt in and already the links don't work. The prize detector is now not working but last night it was. It's just a link but an image. Then the Prize detector deactivated image isn't working either. When the box comes up to tell me about the prizes I get nothing but links no images. How do I fix this?

Some things require names and don't accept images (such as the prize name (singular and plural)) and thus are placing links instead of images. Those are text-only fields, so trying to put an image in them won't work.

Your prize deactivated image is the exact same image as your prize activated image - so it's going to look the same whether it's activated or not.

Also, I see that you are linking images from HTTPS. That may cause an issue, since PB pages (except certain ones) are on HTTP. You can try changing your image links in the plugin from HTTPS to HTTP and see if that corrects it. Take note, though, that settings that are text-only fields will still show just text.

The only fields that accept images are those that explicitly have the word "image" in the option name.


EDIT: I tested the HTTPS images on my test forum for the prize detector and they worked fine. However, as stated above, you are using the same image for both - so there won't be a visible difference.

- The text color can also be targeted with CSS. It has the class name of: .prizeNum
