Lynx is having some health issues, so this is a courtesy reply. To find that information, while logged into the forum in question, go to Profile -> Groups (tab). Click on the group name and your address bar will display something like:

https://(forum_URL_here)/members?group=100&view=group

The highlighted part is the Group ID number.

So I checked this, and no. I'm in group 1. 

Is that the ONLY group you are in? On your Profile > Groups (tab), groups will be separated into 2 groups - the top group lists all of the groups you are in (are a member of) and the bottom group lists the remainder of the groups you are not in. If you are in more than 1 group (from the top list), you'll need to check the group ID of EACH group that you are in using Kitty Katt's method above. If need be, I can see about writing a short script/plugin that can check that and give you the group ID's you're in via a popup box. Let me know if you want me to do that.

The reason this is important is because (typically) you should see the bag and count in mini-profiles - whether you participate or not. The lack of the bag and count in mini-profiles leads me to believe that the plugin is not running for you, which means that nothing will show up - including the leaderboard.

Thank you for the response. I'm the Admin, so there's no other groups for me to be in (not needed). I am only in the one.

I actually prefer that the bag and counts don't show for me in the mini-profiles nor on staff accounts (even for those who can see them; they won't show up on staff). I remember adjusting something so I don't see them, and so I don't participate. However, I've always done it that way and the leaderboard would still show up for me because I had permission to see the leaderboard.

It wasn't until I changed the leaderboard settings to hide it from other members that I encountered problems, despite having the right permissions. I have checked things so many times, and I can't see any reason why the leaderboard isn't showing for me.

Make sure that the theme you are using (via your Profile) is checked in that popup. Also, make sure you aren't in the Except members in the group section. You can post an image of that popup if you want me to look at it.

Second, while on the Admin > Plugins > Manage page, click on the Scavenger Hunt plugin (the name, not the EDIT button this time). Click on the What's the Prize? tab and scroll to the bottom - the Key Permissions should be there. Compare your key permissions to the ones shown HERE. Your settings should match the image's settings exactly. If not, then you'll need to fix your settings to match what you see in the image.

Once those 2 things are done, we can move on to the next step(s).


EDIT: Water Crystals, please report back on the results of those 2 items. I can't help further until I know what the results of those are. If you are all set, and no longer need assistance, please let me know. Thank you.

This is just a courtesy reply.

Lynx's health issues has prevented him from getting online recently. It is unknown if/when he will be able to make it back online. I do not know coding, nor enough of this plugin, to provide any further possible assistance. Perhaps someone more familiar with the plugin, and/or its coding, will be able to help you from here. My apologies that I cannot do more.

It is with sadness that I make this announcement:

Lynx has decided that he will not be able to update this plugin nor supply support for it any longer. His health is not very well and he complains of chest pains every few days - which, I believe, are the result of his heart attack this past November.

He has, however, said that he would get an editable copy of the plugin posted here - or, if he does not have the strength to do so, he will show me where it is on his computer and have me post it on here. Either way, an editable copy of the plugin should be posted sometime this weekend.

I suspect that Lynx will need to make this announcement himself to make it official, but I will mention it here ahead of time. He also plans on giving any coder, such as Chris or Todge, permission to take over the plugin if they want to. This, of course, would be their decision and it should be made clear that Lynx is not trying to imply that anyone has to take control of the plugin.

To a ProBoards Admin, such as Michael or Scott: I also suspect that you will need to have Lynx make an official announcement before any action is taken, but I believe it will be his request to have his library entry locked or marked as outdated due to this decision.

Again, I do not expect any actions to be taken based on this post since I am not the plugin author. However, I did wish to give advanced notice to anyone who I could think of who might be involved/interested.

And I feel kind of bad because I worked closely with this author to help troubleshoot and he was extremely helpful getting us up and running. Hi again!

One of our members complains that when he clicks on the Scavenger Hunt part of the Nav Bar, it opens below the Shoutbox. I wasn't even aware until he pointed it out.

I then discovered that the custom page that I created upon installing the plugin also contains the Shoutbox by default.

Our question: Is there a way to move the Shoutbox below the Leaderboard or even better - remove the Shoutbox from the Scavenger Hunt custom page altogether?

I believe so. At least, I don't know of a way to do it otherwise.
