I hope I am not posting this inappropriately in the wrong place.
I have requested a plug-in for this but to no avail.
Purpose: To have an indication on the display when a new Shoutbox message has been entered. Irrespective of what page is currently displayed. ie: An indication a new Shoutbox message has been entered when the Shoutbox itself is not visible as when you must scroll to the bottom of the page to see it.
Is it possible to modify the Shoutbox template to:
1. Detect a new shoutbox message entry.
2. Display a message at a fixed location on the currently displayed page.
3. When the cursor is in the Shoutbox entry box the indicator is removed.
Coded such that an Admin can adjust the text, colors and position of the indicator in the code.
